Anyone knows where to find such a tool?

I know there's supposed to be a toolkit called "free the objects" which can do this (seems like it fist converts the .bin to .e then from .e you can convert to .3ds). I've googled it but the links are dead, and this site doesnt seem to have it either.

Also, i converted a .3ds to a .bin file. the .3ds is 10kb, after the conversion to .bin it's 1.7mb (which crashes the game) anyone got any idea why that happens, clearly it shouldnt be that big..

Sorry, mistook that for 3ds to bin. I'm not even sure if it's possible to convert the other way around. Someone with more knowledge of the matter will have to answer this.

Do you search for this tool?: http://www.angelfire.com/games4/shadowspawn/Tools.html
Its freetheobjects, and you can create 3ds files with it (.bin file to .e file and .e file to .3ds)

You can do it with the frontend to 3dstobin too.  It's one of the "save as" options

bin2e and eto3ds are included in the ShockEd Toolkit, under Tools\3ds to bin\3ds\Workshop

You'd think this sounds dire, but one of their sysadmin guys shrugged it off like it was nothing.
