Edit: I've added a resource, this contains all the plants (renamed) + 4 different trees: http://piclair.com/data/0ov68.jpg
for people who prefer the original plants but might be interested in using these for a mod. It also comes with a few other textures, and the "lily.bin" looks a bit different (comes with a better lily flower too).

I also repacked your mod to work with the modmanager and added it as an attachment to the first post.

Added some trees to the earth level.

I'm editing the .mis files from TF_Secmod2.8, hope it'll be ok with him to release his edited .mis and gamesys files..

I dunno about the trees on earth.mis; they seem a little out of place. But the models and skins themselves are really nice; well done!

Any city has trees, too lifless without 'em, imo, placement isnt final though.

the "pots" they're standing in needs another texture too...

A slight case of overbombing? I can get behind the redone plants on the Von Braun, they're awesome, but in a futuristic underground station these trees look out of place to me.

EDIT: What Emon said.

Sure, it's lifeless, but it's supposed to be a bleak future setting. One tree without leaves could symbolise that.

Typically, yes, but the fully technological feeling of the place may have been intentional as Kolya mentioned.

But it's your mod; obviously you can do what you like. :)

Oh and by the way: there's only one "h" in Hydroponics. ;)

Well i think i'll keep them, i think that station is just so dull, but you're probably right that it's intended to be that way. BUT, Imo, earth should have something that represents.. earth. It shouldnt look almost exactly like the Von Braun, but with even less plant life  :/ future doesnt need to mean post apocalyptic.

I'm not a native english speaker so i'm probably gonna keep you busy if you're gonna correct all my spelling errors Enchantermon ;) but thanks for the correction.

These are awesome models. I'd love to see, in addition to the ones you've already done, improved plant models that conform to the same general dimensions and appearance as the originals. You know, for the purists like me.  :cyborg:

and the good news is that for those of us who don't want to incorporate gameplay changes with these improved plant models, we can always just pull the models that are direct replacements, out of the mod and install them by themselves.

Like all the other "purists" here, I do believe living trees feel a bit of place in the game and I'd rather be without them. It'd be a shame because your models look really good but that's beyond the point.

zylonbane: maybe, just started out so much can change still.

some progress with the trees, made another model (japanese maple tree) instead, makes the building more "representable" imo: http://piclair.com/data/7sd3j.jpg

i can understand if its not for everyone though, we've seen this map for 12 years without trees, so ofcourse it can be hard to adapt to a new look..
