@ blaydes99 Never had any issues with the alpha, you're the only one who has reported any issue with it, afaik.

Thanks vurt. I'll check again and post a screenshot if I still have the issue, because a picture is worth a thousand words.

Updated! (all the way to 1.0 since it now should be without any floating stuff or other bugs, afaik ;) )

Changelog:

* fixed the floating plant (plantt.bin) added a few more leaves, changed leaf texture
* recreated plant4.bin (the yucca palm)
* most leaf textures has been tweaked slightly (saturation / color or changed texture)

edit: oops forgot one texture, updated.

do note that the floating plant on the earth map is misplaced slightly - you should not take that particular plant into consideration when adjusting the model size (as I've already fixed the positioning in the wip map pack).

ah i see, but it was floating for me in the 2 places i checked (not just on earth, where it floats maybe a little higer). Anyways, it's better to have it slightly sunk into a surface than hovering above it :)

true, but I still think this is something that should be fixed on the map - where is that second place? might fix that as well while at it.
673f1b0a6199c
Are you sure it's floating, because the original plantt.bin doesn't float for me in either of those places (earth and Operations C). Remember to disable shtup because it replaces that mesh...

I've checked via the editor, the right plant is placed a few notches higher than the left one. in this case, I would say that the left one is placed properly.

basically, the best thing to do here is just retain the original model (pot) size and positioning - any additional issues stemming from wrong obj placement on the map(s) will be fixed eventually.

had a quick look - the new (pickable) potted plant model sinks to the ground a bit, plus I'm still getting weird transparency/alpha issues on some plants, even though they seem to render fine on the screenshots from the first post. seems like you are either using some modified cfg values, or maybe a feature not supported on my old radeon x1950? will have to check this on dx10 level hardware tomorrow.

Voodoo, are you using vanilla models? I did not realize they looked THAT bad :)

I think I have to run SS2 without any mods whatsoever and die of shock :D

if you mean the dead AI and weapon models, yeah, those are originals, as this is a test install of SS2 - when testing potentially problematic stuff, you want to have as few variables in your mod equation as possible.

even the stems on those hydro plants are missing? wow, really bad.. i can post the .cfg.. which one is it again?

I dont have those alpha issues at all, seems like blaydes had them too.

Here's how it looks for me in those places:

cam_ext.cfg, but unless you've manually changed something, you don't really have to post it.

we definitely have something screwy going on - everybody who had the issue, post your system specs please.

//also, the new water lilies are not loading for me (seems like the model has been removed from the pack).

I've only added bloom to it, afaik, but i'll attach it to the post.

And yes i've forgotten to include two plants, planth (hanging plant) and the lily, thanks.. very sloppy of me  :/

Updated to 1.0b.

I have GeForce GTX 670 and the latest WHQL. I am on hydro now, so I could test for these isssues if I know where exactly to find them.

shouldnt be too hard too find plants in hydro section ;) let me know of any issues.. very odd with the missing stems for the hydro plants, i see that another user had this problem early on in the thread.

I have GTX 680, no problems here..

the stems are not missing, at least not for me, but I had a ton of transparency and render order issues. anyway, sorted them out - attaching the dmls and mtls. extract the fix archive into the same folder where you have extracted the Flora Overhaul (either DataPermMods or DataTempMods). if you already have some dmls in that folder (like the one from the Bloome mod), you will have to merge them (copy the contents of the new dml and add them into the old dml).

fix now included in the main zip.

Excellent, thanks. I'll attached it to the first post.

also added the description. btw, the render order issues with the lilies can be observed even on your screenshots.

So people with ati cards had transparency issues, but on nvidia it was ok?

673f1b0a632f0
that's what we need to figure out. you can help, get the mod and see whether it works for you without the fixes or not.
673f1b0a63411
My two cents: I have a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT (WinXP 32bit), and I have the same problem; this issue doesn't apply only to models (I tried to make the blood pools look wet and got a blending issue when the blood is applied on a glass window)
EDIT: I modified the NewDark cfg; I'm going to give the plant fix a go and see what happens.
EDIT: Works for me. Kudos!

yeah, blood and glass don't mix well in Dark. anyway, with the NewDark mtl options, you should be able to get it working.
