Tags: °puzzle °adventure5 Days A Stranger is a medium-length free adventure game with a horror theme, made in the classic 2D point-and-click style using the AGS Engine.
While it is visually rather primitive, it makes up for by dripping with atmosphere, along with an interesting story and good use of special effects.

The player takes on the role of Trilby - a 'gentleman thief' - as he breaks into the Defoe manor, hoping to steal the valuables of the former occupant, the late Lord DeFoe, before they are claimed by his solicitors. Things don't quite go according to plan, however...

The game also has three sequels, 7 Days a Skeptic, and Trilby's Notes, and Six Days A Sacrifice.
Make sure to play them in order.


There is also another game featuring Trilby, the protagonist of Five Days, called Trilby: The Art of Theft.  This is not a horror game like the others, but instead a stealth/platform/theft game, and good fun!

I can't decide whether I love these games or hate them. They're very well-done and bring back the nostalgia of my old Adventure gaming days and I love playing them.....but they scare the crap out of me every time!
