I would really recommend integrating the extra SCP package. a lot of people are confused by the nonstandard way of its installation, and mess up as result.

this carries no risk, as the extra stuff does nothing if SCP isn't installed.

Over most of the past numerous months, it seemed that continued improvements to your mod were somewhat waning. It's undoubtedly an arduous process for you to develop, maintain and produce.

With the just released version of v19.0, myself and countless others, are SO relieved and glad to see that the fire is still burning brightly in your belly and that you're still wanting to apply your specialized talents to further improve SS2. We're ALL wanting you to continue your march through SS2's areas/levels and identifying what needs fixing and fixing it.

You've just posted v19.0 release has mentioned improved areas and others that you'd like to address including some specified areas and assets. Please continue to administer your amazing talents where improvements can be attained.

Your additional post-release comments, have identified additional areas that you intend to concentrate on going forward, and others that aren't so important at this specific time. Continue to apply your fixes, whenever it's advantageous.

"nice and thanks" would have worked too you know.

A 400 update? Great, I thought this wouldn't get updated anymore.
6739669be20f3
Quick head up. It's that time of the year again, and as a feeble attempt to trick myself into thinking that I've been productive for the past 365 days, there will be something (spoiler: it's not a kitten) for Christmas or New Year Eve (spoiler: it's a new Four Hundred release).

(Damn, I suck at keeping secrets)

Great to see that this project is still on your mind. Looking forward to the update. :)

Before I go on, I need your opinion:
1. Do I redo the System Shock 1 textures shown at the end of the game? I really don't know since there are supposed to look like SS1...
2. Do I try to complete and fix the computer screens and include them in 400?

I redid the ammo skins for fun, can't remember whether SHTUP supported those or not. Whoever maintains SHTUP can use them.

I'd vote for doing higher res, low-res textures for SS1. I don't want no blurry edges on my giant pixels :P

redoing SS1 textures would be fine, hires oldschool textures are definitely a thing.

a full, true to the original set of hires computer/tech screens is already part of SHTUP-ND, so unless you have something looking completely different in mind, recreating them again seems like a wasted effort. but if you want to do them, don't let me stop you.

yes, the ammo skins (object textures) would be SHTUP territory - I see no reason why they shouldn't be included in the next release, but it's up to ZylonBane (he's the maintainer).

If you're redoing "Where Am I?", you could consider ZB's prior work on the level textures:

All I did in that mod was copy the original textures out of SS1. Nothing original was created.

The next SHTUP-ND release (coming soon!) does however include rather a lot of material work to restore the blinkenlights to the Where Am I? level.

Those ammo textures look great. Yoink!

As infrabaron mentioned in thread linked above the Where am I? textures lack the original (palette cycling) animation. Bringing those back would add a lot of retro-feel to the level.

Great work, as usual, ACC !  Your new ammo textures are great.  :thumb:

I PM'd you brightened-up versions of your four new screenshots that better display the updated details/visuals that your great mod adds to SS2.

Your looonnnggg term ongoing efforts are very much appreciated !. Glad to see that the SS2 improvement "scent" hasn't dissipated over time to the point where your modding nose hasn't continued to pick it up and push you forward, as is the case with myself.

Keep up the great work, but as you've indicated, don't let it interfere with your life's true priorities.

One month to go; currently, the zipped package is around 95Mb and if nothing gets in the way, the next update could be a pre-final release (all textures done)... even though I'm still not sure how to handle System Shock 1 textures.

Everybody chill, or I'm cancelling FEZ 2!

Things got in the way, so it might not be the pre-final I wanted it to be, but release 20 WILL be online for Christmas (of this year (I'm such a wild dude (I mean Dolly Parton clone))); Content-wise, there's a little more than 120 new world textures (+ obj/escape01, obj/escape02 and obj/rick015). Almost everything up until "Body of the Many" and "Where am I?" is done. There are still some unused crappy textures to do, though. If you want some more details, here's what's left for me to do:
eng_2: mtlpanel
eng_3: c001
ert_2: ert010, ert011, solus100
flt_3: t009en28
msg: c_gray1, f_gray1, w_green1, w_sci3, w_thing1
msgtest: mc0008, mw0016, mw0030, mw0038 (these are the same as msg)
res_mark: fanstr02, movie
ricken_2: rck002, rck003, rck005, trythis
shared: rhull001, rhull002 (those and ricken_2/trythis are the same)
ovrmnd_1: ... almost everything.
shodan: ... almost everything too.

How you gonna fix the BOTM textures?  Let's hope you don't shove a camera up your ass like the developers did  :lordy:

Right now, it looks like this (I think this material has been introduced in release 18? I'm not sure).

But maybe, just maybe, if I can put my hands on a wireless camera and properly train a small animal... like maybe a gerbil? I probably need an enema kit too. That sounds unnecessarily complicated, and I might need some directions before diving head first into the matter. Anyone knows if there's a "how to train rodents to crawl up your ass to take pictures intended for retexturing purpose via Photoshop CS5 for dummies"? (It should go without saying, but please don't reply if your book isn't intended for CS5)

Christmas is coming early this year: I'm getting really busy and don't think I will work any longer on this mod this year; there's no reason for me to withdraw the release five more days. First post updated.

this was rather sudden - we still have a few nonpublic SCP specific files that were supposed to be part of the release, if ACC is fine with it, we'll redownload, add, and reupload as v20.01 (or v20a, if that is preferred).
