but yeah, this would be legit - as far as I'm aware, any% allows exploits, and says nothing about their activation, so an engine glitch that is triggered by ladder death level transition should be just as good to go as a piece of evil dml code fired by a tripwire..

For some context:

I asked voodoo47 in the Nightdive discord if it were possible to patch out the invulnerability glitch that happens when you die on a ladder and enter a level transition (and is useful for speedruns). In response to a discussion about speedruns, he made the script for me that I used in the video

He even made one that teleports me to the unused part of the earth mission and one that beats the game when you fire a standard round from the pistol. This dude is a dark engine God, I tell you!
