SS2 - New audio log pictures

I tried to recreate the same style of audio log pictures and make some additional portraits, I used real life photos as a base for drawings.
That's what the original art look like:

The left one looks like a young WBD (at the time of the battle at Boston harbor maybe), great work. The woman's eyes seem a bit close together. I'd use her as a gynoid.

On a sidenote: I remember reading that the log pictures were one of the things the devs would have liked to put more work in, if they had had the time. Probably by animating them. Frankly I'm happy they didn't. Static images are perfectly believable in this situation and help to concentrate on the audio.

Although I wouldn't have said no, if Rebecca had sent Tommy a cheer-up video log.

I take it these are from your expansion mod you abandoned?

Judging from those 2 portraits and those screenshots in another thread, i'd have probably have been a fan, you clearly have talent.
Although I will say there are a couple of texture placements that do not look "right" in that 3rd or 4th screenshot (Red Room) you posted in the other thread. Nothing that couldn't be easily changed though.
I demand you release more assests or continue to work on the mod.

Keep the smut out of it, it's bad enough with Cyborg women with identical size breasts all running round the ship (Size D?) in rebirth.
Tbh I have no idea why I am against the idea, I dunno, I feel as if it it cheapens the credibility of the game somehow. Shoved in there just for popularity.

I like the log pictures they made; I assume they were going for the photo ID look (makes sense in context), and that's what they got.

Actually, this is my latest mini-project I work on, the expansion mod is almost 4 years old now Just yesterday I started to make some progress on the FM too, but it's going to take me forever to complete it (don't really have much time now), anyway, thanks for encouragement. And yeah, there are some weird texture angles in there, in fact there are 12 similar rooms like that, connected to each other - it's like a mini maze with bad texture alignment everywhere ;p.

Yep, it's from Jeff Bridges photo. The other one supposed to be Noomi Rapace I guess the eyes on portrait are somewhat too close together anyway.

Btw. I noticed something interesting in original pictures - in almost everyone of them one eye differs from another by shape and position. I wonder if that's intentional.

Yeah I noticed that too on individual logs but never thought about it or made the connection. Possibly a favourite trick of the artist to give the faces character.

Grosnus how hard was it for you to produce those shots so they look like they belong in the game?  Just curious for FM creation.

Even though I used reference photos (this, and this) it was still rather hard to make. First I drew outlines of the face + shoulders and then did the coloring on a second layer. Used graphics tablet for everything - so I guess you will need some experience with that, otherwise it might be difficult especially at the color part.

Some sort of photo to cartoon converters could also be helpful in making a base for later retouching, but I doubt you will get the same quality without actually drawing anything.

I like them, you replicated the style perfectly. If they were thrown in with the rest, I believe they would indistinguishable from the originals to anyone's eyes.

I always loved this sort of challenge of making something look like it belongs in an expansion pack released by a developer.

Personally, it would feel weird to me if I made money from making graphics that are stylistically almost the same as another artist's.
I mean, inspiration is great, but it's a totally different thing when you literaly intend to copy someone's style.

But I have no problem in simple requests, so if anyone need some custom log pictures, pm me, although can't promise any deadlines since I am in the middle of moving out to another city and it's going to take a while before I get into a groove of things.
