Hello people, good to see tehre are still people who love SS1 and SS2, I have been recording my gameplay through SS2 and posting it on youtube with my commentary added to each episode. Some of my friends say its quite funny, and I would like to show it to you, since I cant attach a link I'll just say that you need to search for "Daniel's COmmentaries System Shock 2" on youtube.

I watched the first episode and I found it slightly annoying how your being a smartass, partly about things where you just misunderstood what's going on, eg Amanpour sets the door code to something that's "easy enough to remember". This is first and foremost a joke by the devs, hinting at SS1. Since you worked out it's the same code you could have got that. From an in game perspective other crew members might well have to remember the code too, so Amanpour makes it easy for them.
The reason why crew members carry cyber modules is the same why upgrade stations are scattered around the ship. There were legal versions of the r-grade cyber implant available that you have. Grassi even points that out in the log you find right after pondering this question. ("they outlawed r-grade cyber goodies after that fiasko on citadel station")
Anyway, I don't mean to bash your effort, I just wish it would be a bit more informative and there was less swearing. Although it's got some involuntary humour when you approach the pipe hybrid that just killed you, saying:
"This is what you get bitch for trying to mess with me!"

Sorry if its not more informative but I ment it mainly to be funny for those who have played it all the way through several times, besides I will have plenty of episodes to discuss what has been going on in this spaceship. I finished episode 7 and I am still in the engeneiring deck.

Ah I see. On a related note: Do you use fraps or some other capturing software? I'm asking this because I wanted to document a run through the game to make audio notes for a mod. But the movies produced by fraps grew huge very soon.

I use fraps but I make it half the size during recording and stop it every three mins to its easier to manage on my video making program, but yes it gets big

OMG! Who let you use WRENCH in the Pure-Psi walkthrough? How do hack that replicator? Psi-ops only means it what it is: Psi-only! I suppose dirty language's forbidden here, but that's the only POLITE thing I can say after watching that!

Watching these was likely one of the most painful things I've ever experienced in my life.

You don't actually do commentary, you just make really really bad and uninformed jokes.

Well I kind of liked it although sometimes it is painful to watch.
It would pay up if you do the commentary with deep knowledge of the game. Like plot analysis, interesting facts about the game.
It would be nice if you kept the audio interruptions to a minimum, like mom talking on the phone and other people's voices. Also it would be good if you kept uniformity of your presentation, resolution, video compression.
Overall its nice to see something like you are doing, just polish it a bit, since you can make the run at one time and comment on it later, keep the synch of the action with the comments. I have seen up to the episode 18 so far.

I would really like to see you finish what you are doing with it.

I love your commentaries, Daniel. been watching from day 1.

But I have to agree with Kolya, You do get annoying with not understanding whats going on half the time.
