Work in Progress.....There will be two versions of this mod to chose from......

The textures will be REDRAWN to enhance detail original texture will only be used for reference....My goal is to have DEPTH oriented textures.

double check with ACC to avoid redundancy.

That is a fine hi res mod there. I will be following the original textures but ill be adding depth to the textures appearance ill avoid the redundancy.

Look again. They appear to be nothing more than the base textures shoved through a filter, destroying most of the original fine detail in the process.

Uhh no NOT filtered there REDRAWN from original texture then ENHANCED from redrawn work.....why waste time filtering original textures that would look terrible

Regardless of how they were done, less gloss and more texture would serve them well. Every singe edge seems to protrude and shine in these boxes, while the surfaces are completely flat, save for more shine.

Try to go for a used look.

Yea this is the style i was going for since there are no normals and shadow maps the texture it self has to be enhanced to appear like it has depth as supposed to the flat original textures.

I guess I'm not a connoisseur but I still think they're good.  They are stylistically different from acc and could conceivably clash but an improvement nonetheless.

I dunno. It has actually less detail than the original.
Anyway, it's a good start. But try to work more by hand and less by filters. Those should be used sparingly and never as a replacement for details.

I realize its different approach to texturing but if i announced this mod and was doing what was already being done then that wouldn't make sense.

The texture just above is the redrawn version from the reference texture....as remeber work in progress means things can change

I guess since there are some valid criticisms, it would be good to make another attempt, using a different strategy.  I like them so far but I don't represent the majority so see if you can maybe draw some more detail into the base texture and tone back the lighting/depth effects as indicated by ZB and Kolya.  More feedback will give you a better direction before you invest more time in this project.

Otherwise it will stick out in the game like a sore thumb. Here's a similar texture from the 400 mod by ACC that shows what I mean.

As excellent as that looks it still stands that its already done i cannot improve on that texture. Perhaps instead ill just have multiple version of my textures and whatever one appeals to the downloader they could try it.

There are sill many of such textures in the game and they stick out like a sore thumb so I think they should be given priority over textures which already have hires versions.

It's just a friendly suggestion, you are the author so you decide which textures you want to work on.

thanks for the suggestions...i understand most people don't like change most are used to seeing the game as it all ways was but i see it as it could be in this new generation of games... it stands ill complete the mod as i see it in my vision and i can only hope people will learn to accept the change overtime. This isnt the first time ive been heavily critisized on my type of modding i have a texture mod for kotor 1 and tsl on moddb people learn to like my style overtime and now the mods going on 60,000 downloads.

I'm no texture artist so I cannot say, but I can say they do know what is best for this wonderful game....But just do whatever feels right to you. You are offering the sweat of your brow to fans of the game for free, it's appreciated.

Im taking all into consideration however...... theres a more odd issue of some textures scaling improperly when texture size gets increased, misaligned textures...i updated the game to latest patch it is gog version.
