Screenshots in SS2 can be made by pressing Ctrl+F9. This saves a PCX image to your game dir named "dumpXXX.pcx".
If you are using DDFix (comes with the SS2Tool) PrtScrn will save a screenshot to your Shock2 folder.

Here are some screenshots, partly taken during an MP game with Jonesy.

Where on the heck did you find a weapons texture upgrades, for example the beautiful psi-amp with that blue light on it?  :shodan:

Hey Kolya, what compression level are you saving those JPEGs at? ~500K for a 1024x768 screenshot seems way higher than normal.

It's been a while since I did these, I guess I batch-converted them and didn't check the settings or set them too high since the images weren't intended for web usage in the first place. You're right of course that they are a bit big for their size.

how can you make screenshots of the menu?
6790d101f0df2
If you have installed SS2 according to the SS2 Tech FAQ it's merely a matter of pressing PrtScr and a bitmap of the menu will be saved to your game folder.

unless you are on a really vintage hardware (think voodoo3/rage pro/tnt2), you should really, really use ss2tool. if you absolutely must run an unmodified install, you will have to use some thirdparty tool to capture screenshots-hypersnap works fine, for example.
