This is the FM that I started after finishing off Ancient. Note that it is unfinished and has very little of it done (just 2 sections) but I am releasing this demo of it so that it's out there, since I may never finish it off.

The basic gist of the FM was for it to be 100% no weapons. Just stealth and hacking. It also was to have 2 branching paths. One purely based on stealth and the other with hacking required.

I even typed up a story for it which was a hell of alot better than the story for Ancient. The story for it was as follows:

Ah the life of a hacker. A life of thrills and risks. No information
is out of bounds to you. No security can stop you. No Corporation
can track you. Or so you thought.

Since early childhood, hacking has been your way of life. Whether it
was to read up on new proto-types for cyber implants, or to steal
information for the highest bidder. Money to keep you up to date with
the latest in cyberjacking equipment. Money to keep you off the
radar. The last thing you need is some Corp scum detecting you in
their network.

For years you were fearless, successful in every job, never detected
or caught. But just like any thief, everyone's luck runs out sometime
as did yours in the end.

Big money the client had offered. Enough to retire comfortably
for quite some time. All you had to do was hack into the Trioptimum
mainframe at their Delta complex, situated in Old Detroit. The
information wanted was top secret research reports into the events
on the Von Brawn as well as later reports from the ruins at Semper
Fi.

At first everything was as usual. A few ICE nodes here, a switch or
two needing to be switched to allow access there. But quickly that
all changed. Some AI that the client had not mentioned, had detected
your presence in the system and set off a silent alarm informing
Triop security. Before you even had the chance to escape, Triop
security burst into your apartment. The last thing you saw that
fateful day was the sneering Corp security officer slaming the butt
of his rifle against your head. Then darkness.....

You awaken in a damp cold dark cell, in what appears to be some sort
of Triop prison complex. Your only company being that of the distant
screams from others incarcerated in this god forsaken place. If
only there was some way to escape, but how. Occasionally guards bring
food, but fighting was never your strong point. If only you`d spent
a little more time learning how to fight as a kid, rather than
spending all that time hacking into the latest "unhackable" system.

Days pass. Just as you are beginning to wonder if this nightmare
will ever end, it gets worse. An alarm sounds in the complex, and
mutterings could be heard in the distance. Something about a "many"
or a harmony or some such. You don't have enough time to analyze the
sounds any further as a gas is released into your cell, and darkness
returns.....

You awaken to find your cell door open, and a deathly silence. What
the hell happened? Only one way to find out, and only one way to get
out of this mess. With your hacking skills as your only weapon, you
pull yourself up from the floor to face whatever is out there....

Note that you'll need to run this through ShockEd as it doesn't contain a station.mis file.

Glad to see new material getting worked on that isn't of the 'so ambitious i'm going to ignore until something's released' variety.

No offince to anyone but always better t ostart small and work up. Even if those first efforts are crap compared to what hits later.

Will have a look after my hand heals up. Nothing major just scrapes and some swelling slowing me up on something as time-intinsive as a shooter.

Edit: Why not name it earth.mis since that's what runs by default when you load the game? By that I mean name it earth.mis and put it in the fan-mission folder so when you start the fan mission this thing loads straight away.

Well I just tested it and renaming alone.mis to earth.mis does allow it to run straight away, but the catch there is that I never setup the user interface (since in the level editor you have that good to go from the get go). So you'd not be able to open the inventory or see your health etc.

I'll see if I can add that in (setup of the interface). Been an eternity since I touched the editor (though I still remember half the console commands oddly).

[edit]
Fixed. Had to go read some super old tutorials I have on my computer, but I found the necessary info. Link in first post updated, so be sure to re-download it if you downloaded the earlier version. Tested on my PC and the user interface should now work.

Of note: If everything seems very well lit when you start the FM, crank down your gamma until things look much darker.

Note 2: Whilst my primary focus time wise these days is on full blown game development, every now and then I go and add little things to it so if I add anything to it in future I'll upload new versions etc and make a mention in this thread.

I reached the upper level via the elevator. Is it all whats to see? The door behind the two turret wont open.
The sneaking is a cool idea, but to tell the truth, after some minutes I summoned a wrench. Sorry :(
