If it goes to "fixing" something, like the robot out the wall thing. I would say go with it.
If it is just reenabling something that was left out and that way would enhance the world, I would say to put all that into something like a seperate SS2 Enhancement mod which in the end will be activated by everyone anyway.

ok, let me rephrase - the area is going to be fixed (fake doors added to both rooms, and rooms enlarged accordingly). the question is, should the unreachable, weird, completely nonsensical "cable" room be converted into a kitchen area by changing the wall textures and adding some kitchen furniture?

as mentioned before, most of the VB does not make much sense, but this place simply takes the cake.

If someone is willing to do the textures for some models I wouldn't mind doing the kitchen stuff. The models don't really require much work, it's just that I am not any good when it comes to texturing.
Texturing for those objects should be trivial-- a single shared handle texture, and a generic metal surface texture. If 3D modeled each utensil would also need a hook going into the ceilng, or a wooden block or something like that.

just realized that now when the second broken door has been added, that additional corridor is no longer required, so I have returned the room to its original dimensions. at this point, it's really just retextured walls, the food preparation table, peas, and cereal.

I think this is as good as it gets.

I love the kitchen solution to the unreachable room problem. Also, if one were to make models of the cutlery, I could certainly try my hand at making textures for the cutlery. (However, as ZB said, it would most likely be easy enough for someone much more adept than I am to tackle. Regardless my offer stands.)
