Well Zylon, he was asking you. Also, you do not have to be so touchy!   :thumb:

Ah, I think I see the light thing. That's pretty sweet man.

yeah, the smoother shadows should be pretty apparent when you look at the wall in the back.

Love the shadows! Looking forward to more teasers!

I've seen the video months ago while stalking voodoo47's channel. There are some other teasers too ;)

Did you clean up the low-res textures or what is the reason for the removed erroneous colours in the training booth descriptions?

it's SHTUP (the old beta6 version, for now). as mentioned elsewhere, SCP will be relying on SHTUP to fix texture (and sometimes object model) issues. hence, using SCP without SHTUP will be strongly discouraged.

Well playing SS2 without SHTUP is strongly discouraged, 's all fine as long as dependencies don't go the other way, from SHTUP to SCP.

that shouldn't be the case, although I'm not 100% sure about those bay1-3 signs on the earth map - will have to check it out.

The next release of SHTUP will be SHTUP-ND, which will be dependent on NewDark. It won't require SCP, but it will support it.

Uh, okay, I just assumed that any SHTUP texture would also be high-res. I don't even remember these low-res texts from my plathrough.

Anyway, keep on trucking. :)

*sigh*

Until NewDark, it wasn't possible for mods to change the resolution of terrain textures.

ADaOB upgraded those textures directly by integrating my SHEMP texture package. SCP, unlike ADaOB, will not include any texture upgrades. This is to allow textures to be upgraded independently of the changes SCP makes.

I didn't know that was a terrain texture.

Do these screenshot include that light map thing you have to enable through a config file?

And why did the buttons to those three holodecks move?

because of an old dml file I've used by accident. wip, remember? and yeah, the map has been relit to 32bit, so the shadows are smoother, and the discolorations are gone.

Looks great. I have to say that those training entry signs always looked like complete dummies to me, like the devs slapped some text on a black background and said: "We'll replace that later with a real sign, obviously." And then never got around to it.
Now the text is much smoother and without the horrendous colour artefacts, but it's still a dummy because the background hasn't gained any detail. I would at least try to give it a subdued raster background in the colour of the text/booth. Or anything else that says: HERE BE CYBERSPACE!!! Because that's what it's fore.

I appreciate the additional step. Good decision.

Bloom is not enough for you? You want to turn that sign into a '90s geocities webpage? :D

;)

Engraving the signs a bit might also help against the slapped-on look.
