Did you change the spider alert sound on purpose?

the alert itself is a mistake. gameplay wise, the player is not there, the sequence is playing in his head, so the spiders have no reason to react to him.

I may add it later, but right now, I'm trying to NOT get into another round of fixes, for the sake of the first SCP release happening before my beard starts to get grey.

that being said, maybe it's time for a small progress report - I have marked earth, station, eng, medsci, hydro, ops, and rec as "ready for the beta1 release".

May I ask you whether or not this SCP project of yours could have partly been feasible even without the advent of the NewDark engine?

it would be partially possible (not all fixes are NewDark dependent), but much more time consuming. the NewDark Shocked reduces the time required to apply the fixes manyfold.

I think that many sequence is better with the spiders hissing. Makes it more intimidating. Though I can recall once getting killed by a spider or 2 during one of those sequences during a play through. Only ever happened the one time, but still.

It could just be spiders to hiss randomly for no specific reason.
