I uninstalled the game without much hesitation because it's very standard shooter ware

Did warn you.

with David Duchovny reading his script so monotonously in the cutscenes that you can hear his boredom.

The monotony was intentional. The narrative overall is pretty good and is the better aspect of the game.

Played Area 51 back in the day on XB, fun game. Really basic though, if you are into sci-fi shooters then go for it.

He's always like that. :p Even in X-files he didn't give two cents about anything.

I didn't know that. Maybe it's some misguided "cool guy" thing?
In any case I'm glad I watched a dubbed version then.

Eh, In Area51 he comes across as intentionally monotonous to match the depressing story and atmosphere (spoiler: bad things happen to David/the protagonist), though monotonous is perhaps not the right word, unless we focus on the synonym "dull"...gloomy is more appropriate.
I disagree that he acts in the same way in X-Files. In A51 he reads slowly and depressingly, as if telling the story anecdotally when everything is over and he is feeling lost, in X-Files he acts accordingly to the situation; shouting passionately, laughing and joking with Scully, persistently bugging people for information, and he does so well. The two acts are only comparable in their quality, imo. He does well for both acts.
He comes across to me as passionate about all acts, he just has a gloomy voice :)

A few notes about Area 51: It's not "free" but ad supported and requires an internet connection to play even in single player. Also it won't work at all outside the US unless you use a fix, eg from gamecopyworld.
I didn't get very far into the campaign because I encountered a bug where I was supposed to scan a computer console, but that didn't do anything. I uninstalled the game without much hesitation because it's very standard shooter ware, with David Duchovny reading his script so monotonously in the cutscenes that you can hear his boredom.

Lol, yeah David has pretty much always had that...droll, with anything he says. Basically the man sounds gloomy even when he is yelling XD . I use to love X-Files back in the day, before it got boring and pointless. I remember that one episode with the sideshow freak that tried to crawl inside people...*shudder*.

Area 51 isn't that great a game, and there are some bugs...but since I know it has an always online thing now, I'm not bothering downloading the moddb version...not for this game. I'd of just used my discs if it would install, but the game is too old for my system.

I've never really noticed that with his acting, especially in X-Files.

He's certainly not like that in Californication. Quite the opposite.

probably the release version of the noodle bar (with all the eyecandy mods active).

Hmmm...strange...you had a post just above that showed the difference between the old and new turret rockets...I watched them on youtube and that was what I posted to.

As soon as I submitted it, the entire site changed, we had these colored icons next to our names, and the post you had the video links is was gone.

There's a scene at a Chinese noodle bar right at the start, where Gaff says this to Deckard.

Yes..that was it! How is it on an entirely separate page of posts?

Oh yes! I remember him saying something to Deckard in that scene. Never knew what it was!

I've been playing the Blade Runner game from the mid 90's...what a fantastic representation of the film! Have you ever played it?

Shimonhead, you probably just missed that there was another page. If you register you'll get auto-loading of consecutive pages while you scroll down a thread, which will prevent this.

And yeah, I played the Blade Runner game many times. It is awesome. :D

Thanks, Kolya! I'll register now. Appreciate your help!!

I wish a next-gen Blade Runner game would eventually get made...like a full 3D rendered L.A. to explore with the full-sized Mega-Corp towers, and flyable/drivable Spinners.

This pic is of a demo made as a test with Unreal 3 by someone, and proves how awesome such a game could be...http://underthehollywoodsign.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/blade_runner1.jpg

Kolya - BTW, here is the best Cyberpunk Wiki I've seen so far. Covers every aspect: http://www.reddit.com/r/Cyberpunk/wiki/index

And if you want your very own EXACT replica of Deckard's Blade Runner Blaster, this is the man to talk to. I have one and it's simply an amazing piece of work. I've wanted that gun since the day I first saw the film.

while this is not going to say much about how close the release date is, I'd say SCP beta1 is around 90% done.
