let's share some useless facts then;

-the SCP gamesys & resouces fixes topic has 45 pages
-the SCP map issues topic (split into two separate topics) has 75 pages (total)
-an additional random issue topic has 27 pages

also, I have just nominated the wormblood fix (wormblood implant actually NOT healing the player when out of power) as the most useless SCP fix (as you never run around with this implant equipped unless you are munching on worms, it just never runs out of energy).

and nope, beta1 will not be out on SS1 20year anniversary.

so, who wants to texture Olfred's cutlery?

all mods loaded, checked and working properly. also, consider this the official unofficial mod setup for fully modded SCP SS2 (important thing here is to keep SCP at the bottom, and flora, space and water above SHTUP, what's between SHTUP and SCP does not really matter).

Aren't the obj_fixes obsolete with the release of SCP?
67414f6f8b202
When SCP gets released my hat will be obsolete.

Or at least out of fashion.

08a is included with SCP so the extra set on the picture is technically redundant, but it's quite possible that the obj pack will get updated faster than SCP and in that case it would be good to have a reference picture showing where exactly it should go.

Aww, damn shame, Eldron's Midwife isn't in the official unofficial mod setup? I thought it was universally agreed on to be the better alternative to rebirth titty monster.

No, it isn't. At all. Though your description of the Rebirth model suggests that you're unaware of the modified version that makes the texturing more like the original midwife.

Doesn't really matter if it's in that screenshot or not.  You can still apply the mod and it will work.

However, you should know that Eldron's model only replaces 1 midwife in the game, not all of them (although it CAN replace all of them with minor modifications).

Simply renaming the model and texture "fembot" instead of "bloome" works fine for me.

In fact, why not add the renamed files to the first post of that thread? That way anyone who wants the model to apply to every midwife in the game can do so without having to manually edit the file names.

It's an idea.  However Bloome's identity and appearance is special in the scope of SS2.  Eldron made the model to resemble her exactly.  To have an entire ship worth of Bloome look-alikes running around, IMO is more of an immersion breaker than the more generic Rebirth model or the lower res (and therefore feature-lacking) original.  Every time I see a female corpse I'm going to wonder why every single midwife has the same Bloome haircut.  I know it's the same with any other repeated model but some models look more "generic" than others.  Still, it's certainly not a bad idea to have the option.

In the future every woman wants to look like Louise Brooks, see TRON legacy.

The original model, even if lower-res, already looks just like Bloome. Nobody cares. SS2 comes from a gaming era when we accepted that there were going to be lots of clones running around.

It's not unheard of today.

Yes the female crew members have all sorts of hairstyles according to log file pictures.
But there still remain many possible explanations. The simplest is possibly that the guy in charge of fitting the robot legs was obsessed with Louise Brooks (or Nurse Bloome). So in his many-induced-dementia he thought: "While I'm at it amputating limbs and calibrating robot parts I might as well dye their hair and  give them a nice haircut"

In olden days it was done mainly to save time and effort that could be devoted to other things in the game, since most non-important NPCs wouldn't really be paid attention to most of the time by you the player character and the fact that most graphics back then didn't allow for much variation in that regard anyway. Probably more the latter than the former.

Nowadays that is true too for when the same model is used a bunch at least in terms of time savers on things you probably won't pay tons of attention to, though now it is mostly because of money constraints and trying to devote limited time given by pushy publishers to more important things for the game.

Half-Life and its sequel did this to save time and effort more than anything.(I seem to love mentioning HL :P .)

Only games like the later Elder Scrolls games that have a facial randomization tech incorporated into the NPCs that spawn each game really have varied appearances. Even then it tends to be just the face more than the overall body. It is really unrealistic to try to make unique faces for every NPC.

Which is why I wonder why more developers don't incorporate a kind of facial and body randomization tech more often. Aside from updating the tech now and then, once the program is developed it could just be incorporated into all kinds of games.

Ah well. :)

As you like to mention Half-Life, they indeed had something like a "face randomizer".
The military enemies had 4 heads (and two pair of hands) where one got choosen randomly.
