As you like to mention Half-Life, they indeed had something like a "face randomizer".
The military enemies had 4 heads (and two pair of hands) where one got choosen randomly.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I was under the impression there were just a few specific soldier models that randomly spawned rather than head switch arounds, at least that is the way it always seemed to me. I don't see any difference in the hands though.

Well, one head is a black guy. Would look weird with white hands, so the texture gets swapped.

I was under the impression you were talking about design as opposed to coloration. Of course there would be matching hands, lol O_o .

As I said though, I thought it was just a few different models as opposed to swapping heads and hands.

Re: Release of SCP Beta 1

The setting for the past ~ three years, or so . . .

- A five-person family (with three fairly young children) traveling around the world . . .
- In an old creaky and rusted-out 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon . . . . . . . .
- That's had a broken tailgate since since the "tailgate party" at Super Bowl XIX . . . . . . . . . . . (Big money was bet on the Miami Dolphins winning)
- On severely bald tires, none of which have the same air pressure and one tire that's constantly leaking . . . . . . .
- Forgetting the spare tire (in fairly good condition) was removed for added storage space . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- The "Check Engine" light that started flashing shortly after pulling out of the driveway . . . . . .
- And three windows that can't be opened . . . . . . . . . . .
- With the steering severely pulling to the right . . . . .
- No air-conditioning, since the outskirts of Pembroke, Ontario . . . . .
- The aggravating noisy muffler finally dislodging itself (now even more aggravating) after hitting a deep pothole passing by Jerry Seinfeld's apartment in New York City, NY . . . . . . . . . . .
- With our "lucky" St. Christopher's chain/medal hanging from our rear-view mirror being stolen on our budget trans-Atlantic boat cruise . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- And nearly non-functional shock absorbers, since a wrong turn was made at London, UK . . . . . . . . .
- Driving bumpy/uneven remote back-roads, as a result of being partially lost soon after exiting "The Chunnel" . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- During a torrential downpour . . . . . . . . . (a loud thunder crack ! ! ! ! ! ! . . . and another, even louder ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! then a quieter distant one ! ! !) . . . . . .
- With only the passenger side windshield wiper working since waving goodbye to Paris, France . . .
- And no cruise control after taking a pee break (aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh) in Munich, Germany . . . . . . . . . .
- Non-functional dashboard lights after stopping for gas in Venice, Italy . . . . . .
- The aforementioned rear-view mirror (now "lucky" St. Christopher medal-less) detaching itself from the windshield approaching Budapest, Hungary . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- With a noisy soon-to-snap fan belt since leaving Novosibirsk, Russia. . . . . . . . . . . . .
- And the oil pressure gauge reading "0" at Juneau, Alaska . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- With dwindling water and food supplies departing Prince George, British Columbia . . .
- The middle child running a fever of 101.7 F for the last 517 miles . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- AND vehicle breakdowns, too many to detail here, and the numerous extended delays in obtaining adequate/proper replacement parts . . . . .

. . . . . the oldest child (representing us) for the upteenth time asks his parents (representing the SCP Devs),

ARE WE F@*^U+~%C"$=K#;/I@%}N*+{G THERE YET ? ? ? ? ?    :D   ;)   :lola:   XD  :)

Hey SCP Devs, do you think that you've found all (most all) of the issues that fall within the parameters/scope of the SCP ? . . . .
SORRY, N'YA NOT ! ! !

I suspect, at this crucial moment in time, the current intense focus of the SCP Devs is in its other-mods compatibility and seamless integration into SS2, as it should be.

In so far as continuing to search for additional routine problems that fall under the parameters/scope of the SCP, your eyes have been long bleeding, bleary, cross-eyed, teary, tired, vertigoic and you're all FED UP with the entire process of searching for such error minutiae. By all means, consider giving  yourselves a MORE than deserved break, in order to focus on more important things. If the decision hasn't been reached already, have the SCP Devs terminate any further search for any additional minor SS2 problems. The time to let the community at large into the issues identification fray is LONG overdue. This allows the "little people", mostly with limited capabilities/skills, the possible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute towards the improvement of SS2, most likely one of their favorite games.

Concerning myself, I've always had the characteristic/eye for small details and things that just weren't quite right, in one way or another. My Nano-X Augmented Eyes have been idle, eager and primed, for some time. I did report some issues recently (most already known - a few new), which have been incorporated into SCP Beta 1. The suggestion at the time was to refrain from submitting any further issues because the likelihood was that they were already resolved, which makes perfect sense, as almost all were. Since then, I've been biding my time/biting both my lips and gathering/searching for additional SS2 issues. Don't fret, I'll gladly present an all new issues report on a SILVER PLATTER, once SCP Beta 1 has been released. To maximize efficiency, its very important that ALL of you report any abnormalities that you encounter. The more feedback the Devs get concerning SCP Beta 1, the SOONER SCP Beat 2 gets released, and SCP Beta 3, and consequentially further SCP releases.

Going forward, in order to augment/support the ongoing development/improvement of the SCP project, the SS2 community has to take on a larger role. It's not complicated - it's as simple as submitting a screenshot of something that doesn't look right. Don't know how to, Google is your best friend - or just ask and someone will help you. PLEASE GET INVOLVED !

HEY, all you SS2 FANATICS, I'm ALL in . . . WHY AREN'T YOU ? More than ever, it's important that you GIVE A DAMN and PITCH something that needs fixing or doesn't look right . . . . . After all, SHODAN expects perfection - Don't make it easy for her . . . . Do YOUR part to make it difficult.

at the moment, no more bugfixing is going on anymore, just running around and making sure everything works as it should, and SHTUP-ND is being worked on. the already available recommended mods should be SCP ready now (I'd assume you have noticed the updates).

That's GREAT to hear that your current FOCUS is on that everything works as it should. YES, I've seen some of the updates. Absolutely, it's important that SHTUP-ND is fully functional - DO IT.

Going forward, please CLEARLY understand that I take NO pleasure in reporting additional issues found in SS2. My focus after the release of SCP Beta 1 is to provide you with all newly discovered SS2 issues. I'll continue to systematically collect and submit them to you as soon as I discover them.

This is far from/not intended to be an "I'm better" scenario. THE BOTTOM LINE IS - I want to improve/update SS2 . . . . . . . . . . . BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE. I sincerely hope that you're not offended by this attitude/position. It's CERTAINLY not my intention to be confrontational, only to improve SS2 in all ways possible, easily or difficult. . . . .  actually . . . . . bring on the difficult. . . . .

KNOW that I'm cued/focused on the release of SCP Beta 1, at which point I'll gladly scour SS2 from start to finish for any issues . . . it's the NOW evolution.

I'm NOT a comic book villain. Do you seriously believe I would still be doing all this if there remained the slightest possibility you would be capable of offending me? I have been dealing with Xmodule over at TTLG you know. because, as mentioned before, if someone can get things done, the flavor of his crazy matters not.

Sorry for being overly courteous to you. Take it as my sane, neutral, intended innocence  -  my thorough SCP feedback to you, once it's released.

voodoo47,

in my SS2 folder, where I keep mods and patches, I have something called StaticZ's graphical fixes. Do you know whether or not those fixes are going to be part of SCP?

if you mean this then it's not required, all important parts are already integrated.
6741101dc0be5
Yes I meant exactly those archives.

Thanks for your answer.

Can you make sure that SCP adds a worm pile to the final level?  I think it's only logical, since they are in every other level in the game.

Plus there's this flying cheat I use involving worm piles, that I'd like to be able to use on the final level.

This must be one of the most awful motives to build an argument on.  :headshot:

if you mean Where Am I, no, we are not adding any worm piles. also, we have fixed their physics, and I do hope that will break whatever exploit you have been using.
