Mousewheel up/down as weapon change?

i would just like to ask if it is possible to use the mousewheel up/down to change weapons in system shock 2?

You can assign 3 mousebuttons. SS2 doesn't make use of the mousewheel unfortunately. How to do it anyway.

You can also use this tool, "Mouse Wheel Control":

Unfortunately, it´s not free (30 days trial, 10 Euro afterwards). You can assign keyboard keys to wheel up/down, which are recognized by any game.
