For a few hours today FilePlanet.com released the Bioshock PC demo and then quickly pulled it back, even while people were still downloading it.
Fortunately some people got it complete and put it up quickly afterwards.

I haven't had a chance to look at it myself, so no guarantees for anything. Still I thought this might interest some people.

EDIT: There are now official downloads available:

Make sure to get the latest ATI drivers or latest NVidia drivers for your system.

As you may have noticed all threads on SBF are preceded by an abbreviation that identifies what game this thread is about. Even though we have dedicated forums this has proven incredibly useful when new forums were created and threads had to be moved in the past. It even helps with search machine friendliness in case of SS1 and SS2.

As long as there is no common abbreviation for Bioshock, "BSK" is as a good as an abbreviation as any. It certainly beats "BS".

Why not "BIO"? "BSK" looks like it's short for "bask". Or "basilisk". Or "biscuit".

None of the links work for now. Maybe later. BTW, fileplanet needs a fee for the account. That's no "free" download, after all!  :p

The softpedia link works for me. Gamershell works too, you just need to wait for a server that's not on full capacity. And fileplanet... well I admittedly thought they would have a non-subscribers download, but nowhere in my post did I say "FREE DOWNLOADS!!" Did I?
Even so you can get the demo for free and you have several options to do so. The torrents also work. I'm seeding the demo there and I'm not the only one.

i got it! now i downloaded the amd hotfix 4 bioshock... installed both! and now? the cursor is not visible, i thought,: whatever, as long as i can start the game!

game started, but after the intro everything is dark and u can only see some lights, the fire and fog but everything else is just black!

i looked up the system requirements on some sites! all say minimum is a 128MB graphix card! I got the last 256MB one! my system is definitely good enough 4 bioshock!

here's a screenshot i made!

Oh dear... you have the same problem like me. Your graphics card may have enough RAM but it doesn't support the pixel shader model 3.0. In other words: You need a newer card to play Bioshock.
The official specifications don't mention PS 3.0 but they give a hint which graphics card series are minimum.

I tried downloading the latest drivers for ATI and NVIDIA but niether of them would install before when I was trying to do so so I could try the C4 Engine Demo and LEGO Wolf 3D (search it on Youtube if you don't know what I am talking about for LEGO Wolf 3d). Is there any way I could fix that problem?

Magma-Man, you need drivers that fit your graphics card. Just downloading some new drivers won't cut it. And you need a system that's capable of running the game.
