Topic: Unable to Create Non-Cubic Solid Read 1275 times

I've just encountered a really annoying problem with ShockEd, where whenever I try to create a solid other than a basic cube, the 3D window reverts to wireframe/bounding box view (all textures and objects disappear) and refuses to change; and when I run the game to test and check what just happened, I get a black screen, with nothing but the HUD. If I delete the solid, make any kind of adjustment to the level, and re-portalize, everything rights itself, but as soon as I try to create a solid that isn't a cube, it freaks out on me.

I have no idea what's going on, here...

If it's something that has just started happening you could have a look at if any relevant files have been changed recently in the sshock2 folder, if it's always happened or you've never tried other shapes before then hopefully a reinstall of ShockEd will fix it.

Actually, I managed to sort it out on my own. I was doing a few operations in the wrong order, and it didn't like that. A simple failure to read and understand instructions on my part.

So of course you're not going to tell anyone what the problem was.  :oldman:

Isn't it obvious? The solution was a laxative.  :P

What I was doing (incorrect): Op: Fill Solid > Draw Shape > Portalize
What I should have been doing (correct): Op: Fill Air > Draw Shape > Op: Fill Solid > Portalize
