Thanks for the ShockED info, and your quick work on fixing the door. The decals now look normal and properly positioned.

I added the new rckd001.bin file into my game and immediately noticed that the new door is much darker than the old one. Does the new rckd001.bin file need some additional rework done to it by another Dev before it can be used in-game?

Seems to be something with the exporter.
I don't know how to it.

That's fine, no problem. I'm sure that a solution will be found.

Thanks again.

Try making sure the door is flat-shaded.
67413389997d1
You are right.
I kinda got the impression that flat shaded models are being split already, but in this case it wasn't.
I checked with bintoe and saw it was PHONG shaded.
Added the splits manually and now it looks good.

Any chance to get this information into the Blender script as well? I just have no idea how. Already applied Edge Split with 1°? Doesn't feel right but would get the job done.

Anyways, thanks for the help, here is the new model.

Dark doesn't actually do Phong shading. It does Gouraud shading. For some reason Bintoe calls it Phong though.

Well, it seems that PHONG is falling back to flat/no shaded then, instead of doing gouraud.

It doesn't like guro.

Although rckd001_v2 does brighten up the door closer to the original, it's still slightly darker.

Can any other tweaks be applied to it so that it matches the original?

Although the links are different, you used the exact same pic for old door and new door v2.

But there's no difference in brightness. It looks like the same door a tiny bit closer up.

If you put the screenshots in an image viewer and flip between them, there is a difference.

It any event, it's close enough, and far better than v1. Thanks to those involved in sorting this out.

Actually in your screenshots the old door looks darker. But that's probably due to some circumstances with different viewing angle or whatever.

If you actually replace the door in ShockEd you don't see any difference.

Yeah, I somehow messed up the vhots for the assidragon shotgun (it had none), so here is a fixed one.
oops - the assi shotgun is not a direct replacement, the rotation and offsets are all wrong. not exactly a priority, but please fix once time permits (model attached to the quoted post).

Are you perhaps talking about the world model and not the player model?
The player model is pretty much on par with the original.

right - sorry, no idea why was I under the impression that the world object is included there (or why did I think you were handling it before. basically, a total mindslip). shotgun is -19 in Shocked.

Rearranged it to be close to the original shotgun.
Boundingbox is different from original.

looking good, and boundbox is of little concern - thanks as always.

also, let me officially request a shotgunless vanilla shotgun hybrid model (-175, grunt_s.bin) - basically, remove the shotgun stub and close any holes on his fist that might be left by the removal.

looks like the rest of the Assidragon world weapon objects will need the same treatment as the shotgun (matching the orientation and size of the orig weapons as much as possible). low priority as it's not causing any issues at the moment, but these things are better off fixed, for the sake of them not coming back to bite one in the ass at the most inconvenient moments.

will repack and make SCP compatible once done - it's a pretty ok weapon pack, if you don't give half a damn about staying true to the original.
