Also, yes, the original model shows a 12-pack, but when modeled as individual cans there's really only room for six. They just tiled the can top texture, so... oops.

I actually have some high-poly can models by RocketMan that I've been meaning to incorporate into SHTUP for... errr... longer than I care to admit.  :paranoid:

I'm glad you still have it because I appear to have lost it some time ago.  I can't even remember what it looked like.  I know it was "almost" there but maybe it was the rings you mentioned that were a bit off.

Well they can sell 12 cans that fit 250ml instead of 6 cans that fit 500ml.
As with the Snickers, the multipack says it has two Snickers, but in reality it has only 4/3 Snickers. Different packaging.

quick notes before I forget again (will add the bin names later today //done);

  • bedb.bin - Bloody_Crew_Bed (-3016) small issues with its blood decal
  • rickgun.bin - custom resource request: a gun based on the rick turret (word and hand model, basically just ripping off the gun part from the turret assembly and maybe adding a simple gun trigger to make it look like a handheld rifle). a vhot at the end of the barrel for a muzzle flash, and one somewhere where brass would be ejected (should someone choose to reskin it as a heavy machine gun), just in case.

Can you elaborate on it? I don't see anything wrong, except that the blood decals are a bit floaty.

I've never noticed any flickering, but then SHTUP uses a tweaked version that adds slight transparency to the decal.

Checked with SHTUP and still can't see anything. Because of the floatyness, when you move around it looks a bit like the blood is moving.
Is it about that, or something else?

About the rickgun, tell me if you are satisfied with it. I made the "handle" a bit shorter than the actual one from the game.
I can probably also help out when it comes to creating a UI graphic.

z-fighting has been reported on the bed blood splat, but to be honest, I didn't see it when checking. did see that the decal could be a bit less floaty though, so I thought maybe you'll see something when editing the model.

rickgun hand model could use a bit of shrinking. the world model is ok in that regard (easy to shrink it with props), but it could use a (simple) proper handle and trigger (see the mspaint masterpiece below). and lets not forget the vhots.

the UI textures would be a nice bonus (was actually thinking of fixing some up myself, but you know that you don't want me handling textures unless there is absolutely no other option).

As we know z-fighting is also some kind of video card thing for the dark engine. So I'll just adjust it in a way that it shouldn't happen anymore.

I thought you wanted it to look like it's taken away from the turret. So I kept the size and everything.
Guess I could take the handle from the assault rifle and tuck it under it.
How much smaller should it be? 25% ?

yes, but as it's not possible to change the hand model size in Shocked, I'm thinking bit smaller is better in this case. lets try 20% (just the hand model).

nanites and stuff. I don't really have a plan, I'm just making stuff up as I go (in this case, some quick way of getting a gun model that is missing in Minstrel. thought this could do without being too annoying).

I moved the decals on the bed now to minimize floating and possible z-fighting.

I made the changes to the gun as requested. Check to see if you like it this way.
Vhots are 1 for barrel and 2 for case eject.

yeah, gun looking good. trying to remember why the world model would need vhots (multiplayer?), but as all world weapon models have them, I guess they should be added to the rickgun as well, just to be safe.

Yeah, its for Multiplayer.
In that case it might even be to big for multiplayer and might need some further testing in that regard?

Heres v3 with added vhots to the world model. I included the (unchanged) hand model just for completeness.

bed looking ok as far as I can tell (will check with SHTUP later), rickgun is already working fine in minstrel with just a few extra props added - all that's left now are the UI textures. let me know whether you want to have a shot at them, if not, I'll fire up my mspaint (later this year, no time to mess around Minstrel seriously).

the wip gamesys dml is attached, whoever drops the v3 model bins into \Minstrel\obj and the gamesys dml into \Minstrel can fool around with the laser rifle (summon_obj laser rifle).
