So far it seems like a pretty cool mod but I'm getting a consistent crash on engineering when I try to go towards the cargo bay. Going from the main elevator, I go up the corridor to a Xerxes monitor and one of those big doors that slowly opens when you approach them, but it crashes instead of opening.

Ah I forgot to mention, I'm using the gog.com release and I'm using BMM to patch the game. I also uninstalled all my other mods to make sure it wasn't a conflict

Are you using the latest version 2.41? Damn, that was supposed to be fixed. :carnage:

Apply the "fix for crashing doors" in this archive, destroy the door with a gun, then reapply patch 2.41. Alternatively, you can just reload a savegame made before entering that level.

Yeah, it's ugly... but it's the only way to fix a game live. :what: Before we had this method, it was necessary to reload.
We don't know what may cause the bug, yet. For the time being, I've implemented this countermeasure:

Having played further it seems it's very specifically that main engineering level that had all the problems, so I would limit your search to there.

Would you believe I'm getting another crash? In the Body of the Many, when I put toxin-a into the environmental regulator near the chemical storeroom, after Korenchkin does his dialogue it crashes as soon as it's done. I tried interrupting the audio with a log but it didn't seem to help.

Never happened before, I will investigate. Do you have a save right before entering the level, or should we try restoring this one?

Edit Replace this file, to enter the 2 blocked rooms without using the regulator. The rest of the level seems fine!

Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately I didn't have anything before entering the level, I mostly quicksave a lot in the levels themselves. For my next playthrough I'll try and save before entering the body of the many and try it again, and that time I'll have both saves.

there should be a crash.dmp and shock2.log in your (and anyone else's who had a crash) SS2 folder. always make those available (zip them up with winzip or similar, upload to mediafire, sendspace or similar, and post the link).

Weird! Do you have a savegame made before triggering that talk? If so, replace this file and retry.

That did solved the problem, but now when I am falling into the last zone with brain room, my player is not being teleported to it.
Also, I have the same problem as duvel - game crashes after putting a-toxin into regulator near storage room.

Try this: install the fix, pass through and save. Then reinstall the original file (attached) and continue.
Fixing a "live" game is tricky, usually it's best to reload a previous savegame made before entering the bugged level.

If you're also experiencing Duvel's problem, then you either swap in & out his fix or try reloading.
Tomorrow I will see to remake those parts and reupload the mod, but it's confusing as neither me or LKL can replicate it.

I'm sending this beta patch to the usual suspects: if anyone's interested, we'll be testing it tomorrow and the day after. It's from today's round of maintenance: I've cleaned up most of the levels, and in particular the Engineering and Many ones which have shown instability.

I would like to include a little extra in the finalized patch, something like jumping from the intro level to a hub where you can play all cyberspace levels and the finale. I also have some old custom maps to use, and the option for a simply made "peaceful Von Braun" scenario is still open.

Wait, what did you do? I thought you had already solved this, swapping that file in and out momentarily.

If the situation's screwed, apply the new patch and reload a save from before you entered the Body. If you don't have one, that can be fixed too.

I updated both files on Moddb with the latest fixes. Testing went well, so I had the time to add a few extras. Now there's a note by Shephard hinting at saving before bulkheads, and there's more details in the finale. Meanwhile, I experiment with those custom levels.

The Audio Logs page has been updated, and the German translation files will be up and running again.

I've updated the Addons & Fixes file on Moddb with the new German translation, and an addon which brings back Kinetic Redirection. :) As usual, big thanks to UNN Atropos which managed the newly moved logs from v2.41.

Any further change will have to wait until next year!

Hi guys!

I love the game and love the mod, but I have the same problem as Dark Archon. After applying the vial in the storegeroom korenchin starts speaking and after he finishes it the game crashes. I tried to run into the tear in the next room, it loaded fine, but when I went back to the reality game crashed :(

What shall I do?
