(semi) random fact - if you have watched the Chernobyl hbo miniseries, Shcherbina smashes a rotary phone at one point out of frustration. I still have the very same phone in one of my random junk drawers (the glorious standard rotary phone of the people, everybody gets it. unlike food).

I have childhood memories of a green FeTap 611 ("Fernsprechtischapparat").

So apparently an early prototype of Thief 2 was recently leaked online:

And somehow, there isn't a single thread on TTLG about it yet.

not extremely interesting, unless it has unique assets or a complete copy of the source code included. similar to that pre-release version of SS2 that can be downloaded from pirate sites (the 98% done build, NOT the beta from that old video).

If it had later on cut levels, or different game mechanics be interesting.

Take it from a guy with a sizeable Guybrush and LeChuck-tattoo on his forearm: Return To Monkey Island is more charming then the initial bland teaser led us to believe. A very welcome antidote to the daily news apocalypse.

Went to a Jewish restaurant, "Neni" in Cologne. It's on the 5th floor or sth. This is the elevator.

But what music is playing? Is it Disco? Kavinsky`?

This is what the place looks like from the outside. As if it was designed by Albert Speer. Used to be an insurance company building, actually built in the 1950s. Now it houses all kinds of artisan shops and a restaurant. More info and images here: https://www.awmagazin.de/architektur/das-gerling-quartier

ZylonBane Unfortunately I didn't get to have any meal, because they were booked out. And my dumbass thought we could just jump in there and enjoy some delikatessen. A few weeks back my wife and I had stumbled into a brillant Jewish restaurant in Berlin (Masel Topf). Very nice place and I had the best and most unusal tasting food there that I've had in years.

Studio Ghibli make lush and captivating animated films. So, on occasion, do other studios, but of how many of their pictures can we say that each and every still frame constitutes a work of art in itself? Open Culture, openculture.com

The 52-hertz whale, colloquially referred to as 52 Blue or "The world's loneliest whale", is an individual whale of unidentified species that calls at the unusual frequency of 52 hertz. Its call has been detected regularly via hydrophones in many locations since the late 1980s, and appears to be the only individual emitting a whale call at this frequency. The whale itself has never been sighted. The migration track of the 52-hertz whale is unrelated to the presence or movement of other whale species.

Kind of like Eiffel 65, only that they were emitting on a frequency nobody wanted to hear.

Love that song. Very much a product of it's time. Especially with the music video to it (not in the above video).

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
