I'm getting these too! Maybe it's a metaphor. Your guess is as good as mine.

you get an infected hoof, and you also get an infected hoof, and I get one too! infected hooves for everyone!

The only hoof-related thing I have ever looked up anywhere was a line of fuzz pedals for electric guitars.

To be fair, the algorithm recommends lots of random stuff I actually like too.

Male hedonist individualist between 35 - 45 years old, medium income, recently liked a Wu-Tang Clang video at 1:45 AM. It is now 0:34 AM. He'll love this obscure ninja movie.

Yeah, they must peg me for a cool guy. A cool guy with lots of interest in hoof infections.

Showa American Story - Trailer (Upcoming RPG)
"In Showa American Story, the United States has become an unofficial colony of Japan."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zpJ8Uw9fh0

From the comments:
"It's interesting just because it's a post-apocalyptic game set after Japan's "cultural" invasion of the United States, but what's even more interesting is that it's made by a Chinese game studio."

In the current political climate this indeed strikes me as odd in a similar way as the partially Chinese funded upcoming "Top Gun" sequel.

I watched È stata la mano di Dio ("It was the hand of God"). And it was good to see a European film. It made me feel like the first season of Into the Night in that regard. A coming of age story that isn't about pretty girls coming out as gay while fighting zombies is pretty rare on netflix these days. But this is director Sorrentino's autobiographical story about a sensitive young man and his hilarious and tragic Neapolitan family in the 1980s. You come for the amazing opening shot and Luisa Ranieri's incredible tits, you stay for the characters and the pictures.

And don't watch the "official trailer", it gives too much away.

I've tried to push that thought aside a few times because it reeks of confusion and disgust like a random whiff of vomit. But I can't shake the suspicion that people are lying about their dead relatives for upvotes in their youtube comments.
67442ad8e2974
In almost every music video I watch there are the same few comment types on top. There is "Still vibing to that song in 2021!" and "They don't make them like that anymore." and finally "This used to be my father's favourite song. Reminds me of long car rides we shared. I miss him so much."

The first is a transparent attention grab, it happens for any year as long as the video gets enough views. The second is the only one of the 3 that's probably genuine, because it's such a common misconception that the music of your youth was the best, whether that was 50 years ago or 5. It is only the last of these that I wasn't sure about. I kept finding this type again and again though, always highly rated.

Now given the number of people on youtube it shouldn't come as a surprise that any song reminds someone of their dead loved ones. However why would you feel the need to tell that to random strangers on youtube? Okay people today do stuff like that nowadays. But youtube is not a platform where people usually share personal experiences beyond a concert they (allegedly) attended. No one writes about how this song reminds them of an ex girl friend, which should be a more frequent (and somewhat less personal) experience. And the stories are similar. It's always about a close relative, but never a wife or child. And it works, high ratings are guaranteed. But why? What is the comment rating on youtube even good for?

Like I said, I don't partuclarly enjoy thinking about why people would lie about dead relatives for upvotes on youtube. But these comments are fishy... Okay, before I make myself look any more like a cold hearted asshole, I googled a bit.

Why are children on YouTube saying their parents are dead?
Children on the site have started commenting about dead pets, parents, and grandparents in order to earn Likes on their comments, or subscribers to their channels. [...]
But the popularity of this type of comment implies that there must, on occasion, be some pretending going on. The question is: why?

This article at least puts my mind somewhat to rest, because however misguided, it's just kids. Not fucked up adults on some fame seeking trip as I suspected. Probably.

That's exactly what my uncle used to say, when we had nice family days on the beach. He's gone to the other side now and we miss him dearly.

I disagree. Flash dress up games weren't completely infested with scams, ponzi schemes, and other garbage.

I miss flash games. Was some excellent tower defence games. Still playable in Flashpoint (flash game emulator) at least. Plus it made for a more animated design in websites. Compare that to nowadays where everything's so static. Fixed. Feels like a step back.

Not that animated design is completely dead.

Here's some recent websites which went in a more flash-like direction using (I'm assuming) HTML5 stuff:

https://umamiland.withgoogle.com/en
https://www.aristidebenoist.com/
https://watch.webbyawards.com/
https://www.airforce.com/intothestorm/

The webby awards website is my favourite of the bunch, as it's like a retro future website where if flash never died, what we'd see in web design. The airforce.com one goes for a more videogamey approach, but is also quite interesting.

I dunno, I would take an open, first-party, virus-free technology that doesn't use up MB of data (like CSS) over flash any day of the week. And most web users would. There's a reason flash is nearly universally hated by everyone except for a handful of flash games.

I got from that quote that the same daft demographic that couldn't own pixel dresses anymore needed another outlet and hence NFTs! But I guess it's open to interpretation.

Anyway, yesterday I got an email from Steam that got my heart pumping:

Until I remembered that a while ago I wishlisted a game named Everything.

I also use an excellent desktop search tool by the same name and with similar problems when being referred to.

Turns out when naming some thing everything things quickly get confusing.

Douglas Trumbull who was responsible for the visual effects in 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, Star Trek and Brainstorm died yesterday. He came up in this thread before, due to the trippy interdimensional slit screen photography he created for the end of 2001.
