I've had a few problems with SS2 causing "unhandled win32 exception"s.

It's been working fine for a week or so, with only the occasional error message, but today it refuses even to run. As soon as I run the program (from the start menu, shortcut or .exe file itself) it brings up an error message. It was working fine last night so I'm not sure what's wrong with it.

I'm running rebirth (complimented) and the SHTUP beta 6 mods, and also Kolya's SS2Tool.

Any idea what's wrong with it? (And if it's irrecoverable, can I transfer the savegames once I reinstall it?)

When asking for help with a problem, we can't really help you unless you give us the error message in full.

It's the standard Windows XP error message - took a screenshot of it:

Thanks for your help (and I realise I probably should have mentioned I was running xp).

You can back up your save games easily, they are stored in individual folders in your install dir (saved key binding sets are stored in "Binds").
Make sure you don't have compatibility settings set on the shock2.exe. Try turning off your antivirus program.
You can use the SS2Tool to replace shock2.exe (see the bugfixes section). You might want to try that before re-installing.

Hmm, no luck. Guess I'll have to re-install. Thanks anyway.

In any case, I'd just like to say this site is the largest source of knowledge pertaining to SS2 which I've found so far. Definitely made the game a more enjoyable experience. Thanks guys.
