This is shaping up to be the best rework of a beloved game that I could have ever hoped for and it keeps getting better.

I have no feedback to give - that never happens.

:thumb:  Thanks!  I've been polishing the weapons a bit.  There were a few quirks and some bugs to be ironed out.

Did you make that base flierbot model Rocketman or did that come from someone else?  If you made it, thanks!  I only added a little to it to better match the spritesheet.

Yeah that was mine.  When looking at the sprites, I had trouble myself figuring out what everything was (some kind of bulky square'ish jetpack at the back?) and so I took a couple of creative liberties but I thought there was something familiar about your final draft ;)

The only other remake that gives me a similar feeling to this is Doom Legacy.  I particularly liked that remake because they knew how to make something look and feel better without changing the authenticity at all.

There we go.  Looks like I need more sleep.

the brown storage room looks a bit too fluffy?

Maybe it's a double functionalty room. Store goods and insane people.

Looks good to me.
Do storage rooms have intentionally lumpy floors in your universe?
6743e91e9f536
It's indeed a valid interpretation of those textures by themselves, but for a storage room those tiles really don't make sense. For the walls and ceiling, maybe, but not the floor.

Night Dive's interpretation of it as some kind of shiny copper-colored metal worked for me. Is this project going to add surface-specific shaders at any point?

Something to note is that it isn't really our interpretation of it, Robb W. authored most of the textures in SS1 and specifically stated that it was meant to look like reflective metal foil in the vein of NASA's metal foil blankets attached to the moon lander.

The rest of the screens look top-notch, though. Needs to be mentioned more often I think.

This should replace Enhanced Edition. It is just that good.

I assume we wont be able to see the weapons we are holding like SS2? It would be lovely if we were able to.

In SS1 you can see the muzzle of whatever you are holding.  It's just a matter of how much of the gun is made visible, which I think is a matter of preference for Josiah.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I would rather see the whole weapon if possible rather than just the tip of it. Like you said, it is a matter of preference but the game would feel 100 times better (and a lot more up to date) at least for me.

Sometimes just the tip is all you need brother.
