Radio silence for the next week.  Getting married tomorrow and then going on my honeymoon by the grand canyon.

Hey!  Still going strong.  Finally got to a more settled in point after my marriage.  Lots of work on adding new lights in and fixing mistakes in the level geometry and texturing.

Searching now draws an animated box effect that grows towards the MFD panel (NOTE: Left MFD only, need to create animation for other side).  Searching is close to being functional, at least visually.

I have a rough automap started.  It doesn't 100% line up with the player yet and it shows everything regardless of whether the player has searched there or not so lots of work to go to get it working right but I think the method has a good starting point.  It scrolls nicely and you can't shoot through it.



Oh and yes I've seen what Night Dive may be up to, and no it hasn't had any affect on Citadel.  Citadel will continue until further notice as I see it as the current best re-envisioning of System Shock.

Six doors are completed and animated now.  Looking pretty cool.  Have to figure out how I want to modify the level in a few places though to hide the doors.  Doors placed right by angled walls will poke through the wall when open.  Have to rearrange stuff a bit in a few places to make the 3d doors fit nicely.  I'm keeping it subtle though for the most part.

Glad to see the project is still going well even though Night Dive's remake has been officially announced =)
I'm interested in both projects, so I hope Night Dive will let you continue !

PS : How's it going with the Audio Log system? I hope the clunky stuff I made for you isn't too badly coded and that you'll be able to iterate from it.

Testing out the hardware buttons with some more presentable gfx:



The idea being that you can see how many different versions there are for each hardware, what the current version is, as well as its on/off status by how it is lit up or not.  I'm also going to implement the energy usage as part of the biomonitor.  Biomonitor will display the ECG and all that up in the top left corner.  The first bio version will show simple heart beat wave, brain wave, simplistic energy usage with only a few bars and a radiation warning.  The 2nd version will add more energy usage bars and display text for how much JPM is in use, text for the BPM of your heart rate, text for the radiation level, and specify which radiation type is affecting you (biological toxin or irradiation).  I may decide to add a 3rd version to split this up a bit more, but that would throw walkthroughs out of wack.

Well, you're making Citadel, not System Shock. Adding a small piece of hardware that has almost zero consequences when it comes to difficulty level should be fine. Besides, biomonitor upgrades were an idea from the original game which got scrapped during development, so why not. I wouldn't go above level 2 though.

Oh,and btw: The icons look splendid, good idea adding those notches to represent hardware level.
