What happened to playing in DOSbox Pukey? Just go into SHOCK/RES and doubleclick "DOSbox.exe".
That should be easier than trying to solve your numerous problems to run the game in other modes.

Your solution worked Kolya.  Thanks.  I just can't figure out what went wrong with DGVesa which until yesterday was working just fine.  At least I have your alternative and it's interesting to note that my mouse has slowed down with DOSBox.  All the best.  pukey
