SS2 distorted colours on NVidia card

Hi all

Thought the HT fix mite be the answer to the problem i am having with the game but it crashes back to desktop as soon as it begins loading the first level after the intro.

When i get to the menu half of it is a pink colour and some of the text on the screen is blurred...i have tried different drivers but the results are always the same.

I have the game patched up with the sstool

My system

Q6600
8800gtx
XFI sound card.

Any ideas what the problem mite be.?

Trouble is though that fixes how the game looks but i cant even get in the game as it crashes when loading the first level.

Sorry to hear that. All I know about the issue is from that thread though.
You could try to contact the patchmaker, but I remember trying to look up his contact details (Wanted to put up the patch here.) but I couldn't find his adress anywhere.

I had a go to get SS2 working a few years ago when i had a different system ( P4 with a 6800gt ) and i could not get it to work then,although i could at least get the first level to load.!

I recently got a magazine called PC Gamer that had a feature on the game (it mentioned this site) ,the article said how easy it was to get the game working,just download SStool and that was about it.! I could not believe it,finally i was going to get to play this great game again.

So i thought i would give it another go on my new system but i could not even get the first level to load.!After much messing about with it the game its going back in the cupboard again ready to appear in a few years time on a future Pc.

Bloody game.

If none of this fixes the crashing, it could be your processor being dual core. I had this problem playing thief.
To fix it:

• Press ctrl+alt+delete after loading the game menu
• Click task manager
• Click the processes tab
• Right click ss2 file in the list
• Click "set affinity"
• Click off "CPU 1"

This might fix it, but if it does, you have to do this every time you restart the game.

Found out I might need this texture fix too, but I don't really understand how I can fix SS2 with it as the file I found seems to be for thief 2 only.
