SF Debris System Shock 2 retrospective

If you're a SciFi fan but lived under a rock for the last five or so years, you probably never heard of a wonderful little website called SF Debris hosted by Charles Sonnenburg.
He regularly posts (very funny and thoughtful) reviews and in-depth analyses of SciFi television shows (mostly concerning a small indie project called StarTrek) but slowly ventured into other genres, movies and recently also video games.

The newest project, surprise surprise, is System Shock 2, with the first part released today (separated playthrough and analysis). I can't watch it from work but if it's in any way like his usual output, this should be an interesting and enjoyable opinion piece.

Jesus Christ ... voodoo, I take everything back. SCP ressources are absolutely perfect, you did everything right. Scratch that, make up a new difficulty level altogether where enemies shoot themselves and 500 hypos are added to MedSci.

I complained that SCP makes ressources somewhat even more abundant which is not such a great thing for experienced players. voodoo insisted it's okay and that SCP was also designed with stupid players in mind. I couldn't understand what he meant at the time.

BTW: Since I adressed the post to voodoo in particular, you might have come up with the idea that what I was talking about would not exactly be obvious to anyone else. A normal person would get such a thing immediately and either ignore it or ask in a less rude and stupid way, of course, but I know what a special snowflake you are.

Of course, since it's no secret that I've worked on SCP at least as much as voodoo has, a normal person would grasp that I would take just as much of an interest in anything you apparently have to say about it. I don't think I've ever said anything like that - there have been some fixes and additions that will help newbies out a bit (like adding a few floor arrows and similar), but dumbing the game down is definitely not on the to do list.
