Impossible. If it were to decay that implies it was complete at one point and as far as I understand it, things are not complete when they are in beta (even though some game publishers seem to think otherwise nowadays). And due to the top notch education I recieved it came to my attention that this fancy looking greek letter actually means beta. There is more to life than nuclear physics you know, how about some carrots maybe?

SHTUP b6 - no reason to not use SHTUP-ND. no idea why you'd think it won't work with FMs.
Eldron Psi Amp - redundant, already included in Tacticool complete.
Rebirth v03a - make sure to get the wip shotgun hybrid model (get JUST the shotgun hybrid model from here, and the midwife model from here. both of those are considered ready for the next Rebirth release, so it should be safe to use them).
Arcaniac Graphics Pack Reduxed - uhh.. ok, if you think so. make sure it has the lowest priority. ask me, you should skip it completely, as there will be some conflicts.
Olfred's Fixes v09 - no reason to not use the latest v10.

Better Explosions  v0.1 - would avoid. too alpha/too much issues.
Turret/Muzzle Flash v1.01 - ditto.

There's no reason either version of SHTUP shouldn't work with FMs.

to be 100% precise, there may be some small graphical issues (improper world texture orientation and placement) stemming from the fact that you can be much more careless when placing the orig textures, as they are very lowres. therefore, for the new stuff to really shine, pretty much any level NOT built with SHTUP-ND in mind will need a small tweak here and there to look perfect.


//woah, what's up with medsci1 loading? are you maybe running RttUNN as mod? you should run it via FMselect as a FM.

I am running it trough FMselect (I might be a cretin at times, but I sure is not caveman) and was just as confused as you. Still not the slightest idea how that happened. The autosave still leads to MedSci and even had some fancy lighting effects when I enabled SCP for science. Well, whatever it is, it does not seem to interfere with the rest of the game, so I'm not really concerned about it.

Damn, I was sure everything was up to date, Olfred's Fixes must have slipped trough somehow... Anyway, I did as voodoo suggested. Pretty sure I had glitches of some sort when testing SHTUP-ND, it runs fine now.

also, I'm almost sure the new shotgun hybrid effects are not working, suggesting that NVScript is failing to load. is this an ss2tool patched install? has the 1.05 patch been extracted to the RttUNN folder properly? can you post one of those saves?

Yep, it is patched to 2.44 and as far as I know, the patch was installed in the only meaningful way (installing 1.01 via FMsel and then slapping 1.05 on it, overwriting everything possible). However, at the time of this recording, I did not yet install the new shotgun and midwife models. Do you need a specific part of the save or just the whole folder?

just zip the folder, they compress nicely.

no matter the model, the shotgun hybrids should at least eject spent slug casings if nothing else.

I just noticed that the FM file contains no save_13 (unlike any of the Christine missions), so maybe SS2 just used the vanilla one and that's how I ended up in MadSci?

quite possible - I will investigate. checked the save, and the hybrids do have the proper attachments, meaning that NVscript is getting loaded. maybe I'm just making this up, will watch some more of the LP and we'll see - but anyway, do have an eye out for shotgun/grenade hybrids - the shotgun hybrid should have a muzzle flash and eject a spent slug when shooting, and the grenade guy should throw the grenades from his right arm. if one of these things won't work, let me know.

at the moment, I don't see anything I could fix (I think I'm not seeing the new effects on the shotgun guy, but the grenadier seems to be throwing the grenades properly, from his right arm (it's his abdomen, originally). can you maybe check and let me know?). anyway, if you don't have problems sending large files (sendspace allows up to 300MB I think?), you could clone your entire SS2 install, strip it of movies and all crf files, zip it up and send me the link, I would then restore it on my pc and double check on everything (was not able to replicate that thing with the autosave, btw).

this should be legally ok, btw (technically, you'll be sending over just the config files, mods and the FM).

I appreciate the effort you are willing to put into this just to maybe find some minor problems for a smallscale Let's Play like mine. With "running the way it should" I actually just meant having all the updates and fixes working decently, which they do now as far as I can see, so the next part should be up tonight. If you really wish to invest that much of your time, there you go and thanks in advance.
