Hey everyone ,

I'm a long time video gamer but new to the system shock community. I'm loving the game so far but there a few minor things I want to tweak. I downloaded the recommended mods plus a light map pack. I'm trying to get the offset of the lights perfect. I want the lit areas to be very bright and the unlit areas to be to be almost pitch black. Something similar to that of F.E.A.R. I adjusted the gama and played with the color filters but either the game is too dark to see or so bright it kills the horror vibe. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Somone rebaked all the light maps to give them sharper edges so they don't appear pixelated.

Sounds like a great idea if you don't mind being locked out of using any mods that include updated map files. So... a terrible idea.

well, the modmanager would scream bloody murder if that were the case, so the assumption is that he is not using any at the moment.

anyway, to achieve what he wants, he would probably have to manipulate the lighting himself, I don't think gamma and cfg tweaks/post processing alone will cut it.

I think I'm going to tweak the light myself. I'm using the modded dx9 version with color filters. They ad a lot of ambiance but not quite what I want. When I'm finished I'll let you guys know. I lost the link to the light map pack.

well, the only mod that includes maps with higher res lighting is SCP, if that wasn't it, then I have no idea - possibly someone just relighting the orig maps and sharing them somewhere.

It takes one to know one and I think you got it bad.
