looks like he installed the mods manually (can't see the tool being applied). he may be in for some dml fun later.

//also SHTUP beta6 instead of SHTUP-ND. wonder what makes people go for the old version.
//and flora version is ancient. seriously, where do people get this stuff?

Hello, friends! Ranmaru here!

Let me first thank you for featuring my Let's Play on this awesome forum! I really appreciate it!

I also want to apologize for the quality of the first six videos. However, from part 7 and on will be at full 1080p 60fps, or as close to that as YouTube can handle lol

Also, from part 7 and on, the bloom effect has been slightly tweaked, I have updated to SHTUP-ND beta 0, and I've installed ACC's Four Hundred mod.

My only regrets are not recording the first few videos properly and not having SHTUP-ND and Four Hundred installed before starting my LP. Regardless, I still hope that anyone who watches my Modded System Shock 2 will enjoy it!

yeah, but where did you get the outdated mods? do we have some rogue links/mirrors somewhere or something?

Most of the links I used lead back to this forum, and I just followed the links provided in the mod topics.

interesting - I'm pretty sure you didn't use SS2tool (I can see that the basic fixup dmls are not active. that also brings up the question of how exactly did you apply those mods - manual install of the mod manager maybe?), and that the Flora mod is some very old version (no chains on the hanging plant). would recommend you to update (graphics mods can be updated mid-game without problems).

anyway, if you've got links for those mod topics, do share.

Like I said in the videos and the description, the Steam version has a specific folder where you can just unzip the mod files into, which will overwrite the main game files, that'll turn the mods on. And I already recorded the first 6 parts in a single session without realizing SHTUP had been updated. From part 7 and on I use SHTUP-ND and installed Four Hundred, you'll see the difference right away once part 7 is made live on my channel. I even took the first 20 or so minutes to show it off in part 7.

Here's where I got Vurt's mods that I'm using: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=3099.0
And here's where I got the version of SHTUP I used in the parts 1-6: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=22.0
I found out about SHTUP through a thread on the Steam forum for System Shock 2, googled the mods listed there and got what I thoguth would be good at the time: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=144318168

yeah that will not work properly anymore - file overwrites. shouldn't be catastrophic/game breaking, but will definitely cause minor problems here and there (the more mods you mash together, the greater the chance).

knew I've been forgetting to clean something up. all the stuff attached to that post is ancient. this is where you should have started.

looks like the link to the new version still isn't big and red enough.
pretty up to date, actually. should have followed it more carefully, especially the mod manager part.

I'll update the Flora mod, thanks. Aside from that everything works fine now, just stick around until part 7 and you'll see :) I'll even post it here when it's made live in a few days. You won't see the flora update until part 12, however lol

fine is a matter of perspective.

Just one more update, I've just installed Archaniac's Pipe Wrench and Laser Rapier, which will be seen in Part 12 of my Let's Play :)

I'm assuming someone is pointing a gun to your head?

No lol I'm just looking around for mods and liked how Archaniac's Pipe Wrench looks more like the wrench from BioShock :D Figured I give the Laser Rapier a shot, too, since it's not modded in the Tacticool pack. I tried the modded EMP Rifle, but I didn't notice any immediate changes, I'll have to check back again when I put more points in Energy weapons.

it's a (slightly deformed) model converted from Half-Life: Opposing force. why would someone choose it over the pretty much perfect Tacticool wrench is beyond me, but hey, whatever rocks your lollipop. the rapier just has a bit more of the hand visible, and not in a very good way if you ask me.

also, a bit of a warning, most Arcaniac object models are slightly broken/flawed, might want to be a bit careful what you throw into your mod pot. and the AI models are.. well, let's call it an acquired taste (think natto topped with balut and slices of casu marzu).

Finally recorded in 1080p and in 60 fps, and with ACC's Four Hundred installed and the updated SHTUP-ND mod.

too bad you are too far in the game to get SCP and enjoy the enhanced lighting, visual effects and the rest of the improvements and fixes. maybe next time.
