happy 100k-downloads day, Rebirth. lets celebrate by releasing a new version - Rebirth v05a is up, the thrown hybrid grenade now has a proper Rebirth model, and all fixes for Christine's FMs reside in one fingerprinted gamesys.dml file.

Can the new one replace the version used in the recommended mod set (https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4447.0), please? I'm guessing yes, but in case there is anything special that needs doing to get it to run, or if old game saves won't work if you swap the new version of the mod for the old, I thought it best to ask.

no need to be worried about anything, though I will point out that the recommended way of updating a mod is to actually get rid of the old version completely and installing the new one afresh.

RealSG_Rebirth_1.04 is up - fingerprinting cleanup, and making sure everything will work as it should with the upcoming updated Christine's fan missions.

must be installed cleanly, do not drop the new files into the 1.03 folder. should be fine to update mid-game.

Now that NewDark support highers-res AI textures than 256x256, it would probably be worth tracking down CyberBlutch and asking if he still has the raw texture files for this. Anyone know how to get ahold of him?

tried to contact him via steam ages ago (actually created my steam account and bought a game just to be able to do that), but he didn't respond then. lets try that again - maybe I'll have more luck now that my account is not suspiciously new and obviously connected to all the Dark games.

Rebirth 05b is up - fixed midwife model by Paynamia, removed some redundant stuff, the Secmod Rebirth files are now integrated, so no need to mess with extra addons anymore.

That is indeed what I had in mind, though maybe not quite that saturated. Eh, I'm fine with it. Sometime "soon" I'd like to experiment with running the AI textures through ESRGAN. I tried getting it going last weekend, but the install process is obnoxiously Linux-biased.

I ran these textures through an online upscaler (https://bigjpg.com) and got pretty good results.

Here's some upscales done with Gigapixel AI. It really couldn't figure out the skull face, and the color banding was pretty detrimental to the outcome, TBH.

Interesting results. Looks like the midwife's face is just too low-res for AI algorithms to do much with. The hair sure upscales nicely though.

mid-game mod activation or other not so recommended shenanigans, most likely. just kill the guy and proceed, new spawns should be fine. if not, let me know.

Was this model ever incorporated? If so I have never seen it in the game.
