if you have extracted SS2_rebirth03.7z into the DataPermMods folder, you should also have a bunch of dml files there. anyway, the mesh folder seems to be present, so the models should load.. try extracting the archive into DataPermMods again.

what is inside the mesh folder? should be full of bin and cal files.

yeah, that's just Tacticool wrench and some player model mod. Rebirth is simply not installed. extract the SS2_rebirth03.7z archive into the DataPermMods folder, and it will work.


//ok, looking at the files inside the DataPermMods folder, I think I know what's going on (should have noticed earlier). downloading the 7zip archives with the mods into your DataPermMods folder is not going to get you anywhere - you need to get 7zip, open the downloaded files, and extract what is inside into the DataPermMods folder.

until you do that, those 20 mods you have downloaded will just sit there, and do nothing.

Muzman's "Cutscene Rebirth" has little to do with Rebirth. It should have it's own thread I think. Been waiting for Muz to finish this long enough, doesn't look like it'll happen unfortunately.

it's hires, and it's using the Rebirth AI models, so aesthetically, it complements Rebirth. but yeah, I see no reason why it shouldn't have it's own topic if you think that would be better.

Can someone the files I need to delete to revert to vanilla NPCs? Those thong pants on NPCs are awful. I know you don't see much of them in the game, but I'm sure I will when I get on Infinite. Thank you guys.

just disable the mod in your mod manager. and if you are not using one, well, you should have. modpacks and manual installs are not supported.

I know I'm not the only one who notices them, right? At the intro of the game, you could see it for yourself. Not so much on corpses.

Voodoo, thanks for the response. I'm sure this is a simple thing. The "Replacement" tag on the mod manager, I can see is for visual replacers, but not sure what DML is for.

it just means the mod includes dml patches - small files that modify various properties and settings (for example, tweak some corpse positions so they would look properly with the hires Rebirth models). no need for concern.

Just a memo to myself or anyone else who might feel like taking up the cause-- this mod eventually needs to somehow include the Earth AI models. These are standard male and female human models, textured with a nice light-blue jumpsuit. Even though the models are complete and look great, they weren't used in the vanilla game. SCP uses them for some of the AIs on Earth, but when Rebirth is activated they're replaced with generic Von Braun crew models, which is a shame.

Really?  Does rebirth somehow have priority models that are duplicates of the crappy low-res ones?  How does it revert them back?
