the current Rebirth does not include replacements for all the models found in the orig resources, just ones used in the vanilla game (that's why it's incompatible with Infinite, for example). a dml sets the earth models to ones that are available (overriding whatever changes SCP does).

Just a memo to myself or anyone else who might feel like taking up the cause-- this mod eventually needs to somehow include the Earth AI models. These are standard male and female human models, textured with a nice light-blue jumpsuit. Even though the models are complete and look great, they weren't used in the vanilla game. SCP uses them for some of the AIs on Earth, but when Rebirth is activated they're replaced with generic Von Braun crew models, which is a shame.
So for Rebirth it's just renaming models. Or is it actually necessary to edit the models?
And if yes to edit, just the textures or more?

it's just about creating the extra sets of textures (basically, stitching together some orig and Rebirth textures) and hexediting the existing models accordingly. I've actually did this for a bunch of models (those currently seen on earth when Rebirth is active).

v04 is up;
Rebirth 04
The 04 version includes fixed up models of the pipe hybrid, shotgun hybrid, and midwife (modifications done by RocketMan). They all now have proper joints - as result, their necks are no longer rigid (headtracking will work), and the midwife and shotgun hybrid now launch their projectiles properly with their right arm (and not the abdomen). A few small model flaws have been fixed as well. Also, a previously unused corpse model with a ripped off arm is now used at a couple of places (corresponding ripped off arm model created by Olfred).

wouldn't do much good as this is something you can only see in motion, but if you really insist, I can show you a ripped off arm.

ok, but then you have to beat him to death with it.

Is it possible to fix the huge thighs on every NPC? That's the only thing stopping me from checking this out.

it's pockets, and they have been trimmed down in the latest batch of fixed models.

I'd like to keep my arm, thank you very much. Grown fond of it over the years.

Wasn't there a discussion recently to convert the phys dimensions back to the originals to avoid heavy use of repositioning via DML or am I imagining that?

not really, I've just noted that the Reb models are smaller a couple of times. not planning any dml trickery either, but maybe I'll ask RM to shrink the Rumbler model a bit, as that one is ginormous.

a very tiny update that makes sure everything will play nicely on the earth map of the upcoming SCP release.

ok, I think I have been delaying this for long enough - Rebirth05 attached to the first post.
The 05 version includes fixed up models of the pipe hybrid and Diego, and also all four multiplayer player models (modifications done by RocketMan). The pipe hybrid's ankles now don't twist in unnatural ways after death, and Diego has a proper (round) bald head. A few FM compatibility fixes have been added as well.

Any chance to give hybrids finally five human fingers?

6810245e5db74voodoo47

6810245e5dbcf
not by me - you could ask Rocketman, he's been doing all the model edits so far.

but I really don't see the claws as a problem.

6810245e5dcd0
yeah, lenght and shape is not a problem indeed but why four not five ? :D anyway great job again! love to play with this (with modyfied hybrid texture)

6810245e5dd80voodoo47

6810245e5ddd0
to be honest, I never really noticed that they have only four - so as I've said, not a big deal really. working out the technical issues and making the pack as complete as possible has much greater priority.

yeah i understand, that was rather "thing to do when you have many time and no idea to spend it" :)
