I'm slightly surprised nobody has commented on the upgraded plumbing yet.
I'm successfully trying to contain my exuberance so far.

Damn, I fucked up my saves because I installed Ball Lighting Rifle mod, saved, and muuuch later in the game, removed it, and saved again. My only solution would be to reinstall Ball Lighting Rifle mod and finish the game with it, or start a new game. Sooo be careful with this one. The bug is that the game crashes when you try to change EMP rifle mode from "norm" to "over", and the damage type is still electrical instead of EMP even if you remove the mod.

(few minutes later) : yep, I confirm that reinstalling Ball Lighting Rifle mod removes the bug, so either you install it and do a full playthrough with the mod installed, or uninstall it/don't install it and start a new game from scratch.

slightly odd, looking at the dml, I don't think it should be capable of crashing the game, but yeah, generally you should try to avoid activating/deactivating mods that change functionality mid-game. even visual mods can be negatively affected by mid-game activation (if they use map dmls to tweak objects, they will only get applied to maps that haven't been visited yet), though crashing the game should be pretty much impossible.

the only mods that are 100% safe are probably just pure texture mods, like 400.

Yup, but honestly I'm very pleased by the stability of the game and the mods, (not counting BLR mod) I had only one crash in 20+ hours of gameplay, and I suspect I am responsible for this (using large adress aware for testing purposes)

well, that's one area where we're better than Fallout4, I'd say.

I think you should be able to fix that crash bug by throwing away your EMP Rifle and either summoning a new one or finding one you never touched if you don't want to cheat.

I've already rebuild my SS2 to the same mod merge but without BLR, I'm on an other playthrough, previous one was marines specialised in energy weapons, this time it's marines specialised in heavy weapons (I love the fusion canon !).

I already started a Psi playthrough on easy but I quickly lost interest because (unless I'm wrong) there is no shortcut to cycle Psi power Tiers, you have to manually change it, and it's a pain, too bad, I would have loved something like The Elder Scrolls with assignable spells shortcut and such. Actually bioshock did something a bit more practical (while still failing to have interesting/balanced powers).

You're wrong, SS2 supports both those things.

You can assign your F-keys to various PSI powers (open PSI panel, move mouse on power, press Shift+F-key) and there should also be a command for cycling through the tiers. I think you can do more by editing the bind files manually but I don't have a simple guide handy.

Hello, I will be playing SS2 for the first time. Could someone please tell me if it's recommended to install both SCP_Beta2 and SHTUP-ND_Beta1 patches? Or should i only install one of these patches? Thank you.

technically, SCP is the patch, and SHTUP-ND is an object texture update (and some more things). and yes, it's very recommended to use them both, so much that they are distributed in the same topic so people would use them together as much as possible. also, see here.

BTW, in the newbie guide, SHTUP should be lower than Tacticool, not higher, since some weapons get replaced by it.

hmm, wasn't aware, maybe something that has been added to SHTUP-ND beta1? anyway, fixed the guide.

You'd have to ask ZB, but the pistol hand model is an example.

Also included is the latest beta of SHTUP-ND, highly recommended for use with SCP.
I can see how this might be confusing.

I haven't seen ZylonBane fuck up and make a minor mistake of this kind since about a year ago in rec when discussing broken shotguns, the laser pistol laser effect and such. Next time it happens everybody be ready to strike with exaggerated condescending ferocity.  :headshot:

Re: SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 2

I did understand, but my post was poorly worded. What I meant was, "one of these days ZB is going to make a mistake like newbie just here has, one which I haven't seen him make in over a year, and then everyone will be able to get their revenge via exaggerated condescension". Unfortunately, due to the poor wording of my post it makes it look like I think you just did fuck up. A failure on my part, so now I have to suffer the condescension of ZylonBane once more along with newbie here. Goddamn it.

I would like to thank everyone involved in all the mods listed, you guys did an amazing job, SS2 is one of my favourite games and it plays and looks better everytime I launch it :)

Hope to see more and more improvements in the future :) Cheers

thanks. also, the cigs are redundant now (generally, stuff tagged as "obsolete" should be avoided, unless one knows exactly what he's doing).
