deck 5, 6, 7.
lighting artifacts, almost impossible to get rid of them completely. it's just how Dark works. that triangle on the ceiling is an incorrect texture, consider it noted.
Some of the flora poking up through the floor on Hydro. This is with SCP beta 2 plus Vurt's Flora v1.0k. The vegetation is only visible from some angles; when I move around it will disappear in some places.
any resource mod that is not a direct 1:1 replacement is just begging for problems like that. should be possible to fix (Flora 1.0l, most probably).
Okay, I'm pretty darn sure this IS actually a glitch this time :P

I'm using nothing but SCP Beta 2.  This is a disc copy updated with SS2Tool 6.1.0.7.
seems to be happening on some gpus (not mine though). try what ZB suggested (also, NOT running with SHTUP-ND is very unrecommended).
The brown portion of the chem containers are see through.
we are aware. not sure what the proper fix would be, yet.

Almost if they're brown glass.  :paranoid:

Yeah, I was under the impression that this was intentional.

Brown glass makes sense. However since the containers are supposed to contain chemicals, they should not be see through even on the bottom.

Do not make me start going on about nanoscale particulate aerosols.

Californium as a nanoscale particulate aerosol stored in a glass bottle? I suppose if we are talking about science fiction, anything is possible.

Is the right side door already being open when first entering Engineering still being investigated, because it's still happening.

Talking about transparency, this organ has far too much of it   http://i.imgur.com/lrsj7xz.jpg

Actually, brown glass bottles is the most common container for chemicals.

Ha, that's a SHTUP problem. Stupid model.

What is happening is that particular door sticks open whenever a monster goes through it. If the player goes through it, it will then close normally. That hybrid you come across when you are first coming into that area is the reason that door is stuck open when you first see that door. From that point on, that door is a tell. If you go through it yourself to make it close properly, if you see it open again, look for a monster because another one has come along to make it stick open again.

Actually, brown glass bottles is the most common container for chemicals.

Especially for invisible transparent chemicals, at least in the SS2 universe.
67428bdbd2f92
Most chemicals are colourless, and those which aren't loose their distinctive ability inside the brown glasses.
At least for the majority.
Well, this counts as long as we are talking about chemicals which state is liquid at room temperature. Now there are quite the number of chemicals which don't count into this.
So changing the material to not transparent might be advisable.

For anyone who want's the chemicals without transparency, put this file somewhere in your mod manager under /obj/txt16

EDIT: Removed file, see here.

@ Yankee Clipper, thanks for the overview.

I remember the details concerning the oddity of the opened right side door in Engineering. Since it was happening to some and not others (ie: players using and not using SCP Beta 1), I thought the conclusion back when was that it would be investigated further and that a fix would hopefully be part of SCP Beta 2.

Thanks for the CHEMTEX2.mtl file for non-transparent chemical containers. :thumb:

FEEDBACK: Brown color is too light. Darken the brown color so it's a closer match to the transparent chemical containers.

For those interested, here's how it looks     http://i.imgur.com/h1L5fYI.jpg

Chem container glass is staying transparent. That's how they were originally, transparency is cooler than not transparency, and even if we felt like doing something to the models, there's like two dozen of them that would each have to be fixed individually. If the lack of powder rolling around in them bothers anyone, just tell yourself the chemicals are dissolved in a solution of distilled water, or alcohol, or aqua regia, or whatever.

Yes, your install is bugged.

[...] even if we felt like doing something to the models, there's like two dozen of them that would each have to be fixed individually.
That's why I made a material file, wouldn't want to invest too much time into them, merely to please some people.

Brown color is too light. Darken the brown color so it's a closer match to the transparent chemical containers.
It only looks brighter because you have no colour mix from the background.
If you want a darker brown just edit the chemtex2 texture.

Thanks! Deleting that file worked like a charm :)

One more thing - I've noticed these strange little "red splotches" that have started to appear on certain textures when I walk up close to them, then disappear when I back up.

I've only just started to see them pop up here and there once I reached the "Command Deck".

Here's an example from when you have to return to "Engineering".  They pop up ALL over the ground in the "Fluidic Tunnels":

create a normal install using the latest SS2tool. stop doing whatever crazy thing you are doing.

None.

Like I said before - this is a disc copy, updated with SS2Tool 6.1.0.7, using only SCP Beta 2.

Strangely enough, while re-loading a previous save in-game didn't solve the problem, quitting out of the game and restarting it seems to have fixed the "red spots".  Not sure if they'll show up again, but I guess I'm glad I took a screenshot as proof.

It may have just been a weird one off glitch due to my gpu / drivers or something.  Everything is up to date though so I'm not sure if that's the problem.

I'll let you know if they show up again.

There's nothing in SCP or even the base game that could be doing anything like that, so it really is most likely a video driver issue.

67428bdbd3f38
I think I had something like that a trillion years ago (but mine were green). it went away after restarting the game, never to return.
