It's odd... several years ago, I would have been ecstatic about the news of an SS3.  Maybe in the mid to late 2000s.  Lately however, all the happenings in the System Shock world, coupled with my recent distaste for mainstream games and reboots has left me feeling very uneasy about this.  I don't want to condemn the game prematurely of course but I'm worried how it's going to turn out.  What's holding my interest at the moment, is 4 good people working on this game, who hopefully still have enough zeal and passion for the franchise that they will be able to keep the business men from fucking everything up.  Hopefully they can put themselves in the shoes of their younger selves and find that synergy that made SS1 and 2 so great.

I am hopeful, but not an ecstatic blind hope. There is fear and hurt at other reboots done wrong. however this is the best chance we will likely get at it being done right. They have SHODAN'S VA. They have Warren Specter. They will hopefully remmeber what it was like to want to do more than naked money grabs.

Oh gawd i can't help myself being very very excited. I want to keep my expectation low, but I'm just sooo thrilled to see a new good SS. I remember how terribly dissapointed I was after waiting years for Max Payne 3. With SS this is gonna be horrible... Gotta get some distance.. I must!

Apart from a minor itch on his ego, I doubt that he cares. He made his SS3 (and then another) and it made him rich enough to do something he likes again now. Almost like when he had nothing at all.

Many a times I have been told it would never happen, maybe in a 100 years....or after half life 4 happens. All I can say is when can I preorder the super mega ultra collectors edition with shodan poster printout and a von braun paper weight. Im excited and all but FFS....we been waiting for over ten years for this!

Anywho...heres hoping they keep faithful to the feeling of SS2 and not get sucked into the mainstream way of game play. We all know what happend with duke nukem forever.

On a side note i thought it was pretty thoughtful of how the company broke the news to us with SHODAN. She wants us all to know that she did not forget about us heh!

Nope. DNF made it to itself, noone another affected the quality of the game. The developer just crumbled under the weight of age. And watching UA videos i fearfully observe dame symptoms.

I personally have sincere doubts if anything good can come from this regardless of his involvement.

Ah, i'm sorry, shouldn't say that, just faintheartedness. UA is 2 years old and there's quite a number of rivaling games, some pretty nice. And i don't want UA just to make it, want it to kill'em all.

This but with far more skepticism. After seeing the atrocity that was Star Wars: Episode 7 (hint: If you've seen Episode 4, you've already seen Episode 7) I'm done with reboots, remakes, re-imagings and whatever buzzwords they've come up with to appeal to dumb kids who can't handle a real game or movie. I've seen too many cherished IPs (both games and movies) revived after long slumbers only for the final product to be garbage because someone desperately wanted to appeal to kids who have the attention span and/or tolerance for challenge of hyperactive gnats.

Starwars 7 was not bad just more of the same and some new stuff.
If they do the same with 8 then.. i have a feeling were in for a bad time.

Same way there is no way in hell they can dumb down ss3.
There will be slaughter and the game will be dead.

May we please hold off on the general shittiness toward a game that we barely know anything about yet? It's being developed by ex-LGS people. It might suck, it might be awesome, but we have no idea until we get some concrete information on what's actually going on with the development. Shock 3 isn't Advertising Wars: The Marketing Awakens.
