Bug in Body of the Many : Player dies underwater instantly

Dear Team,

I have the same issue like this user : https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4333.0

But unlike the user before, I did not delete my savegames. So if anyone want to analyze the problem, send me a message or answer to this post.

I play System Shock 2 under wine on an iMac 2011 (GOG-Version). Everything was fine until I crashed into the body of many. If a wanna dive underwater, the game freezes for 1-3 seconds and then a voice is telling me something about radiation. Then I die instantly.

Under the Mac I am not able to use the cheats (or at least I did something wrong). I tried to press Shift and ; in shoot mode. But the Game won't accept it. So no ubermensch cheat for me. Thanks for the help.

can you post your shock2.log? or check your shock2.exe and see what version you are running. anyway, I did post a fix on the GOG forum awhile ago, but no harm in attaching it here as well I suppose.

drop the file into your SS2 folder. note that this will completely disable drowning, so don't use unless you have the insta-drown problem.

The console not working seems to be a wine issue, that I also have. Check my topic about it for a workaround.

First: You are awesome! Fix worked for me in the Body of many. But now – next glitch. I can't fight Shodan. I just fall down the chasm and thats it! just darkness and no end bossfight. I can see the round lights above but normally I would automatically transported to the bossfight. But Shodan just tells me that I am unwanted and then: Darkness.

Well I don't die, though. Do You have any clue?

try replacing your file (back it up first) with the one attached to this post. load a save before falling down the shaft, jump in and see what happens.
