We don't know what the other four pods are for. They might be mechanical in nature, or otherwise needing segregation but aren't grove-like so have a different designation.
They look exactly like the grove pods. They did then, they do now. They're groves.

Zylon for once in your life can you not be ultra pessimistic and condescending about everything? It's one thing to point out where they fucked up, and having eight pods instead of four is a fuckup so far as we know. However try finding something positive to say for a change that isn't also an inevitable backhanded compliment or outright insult.

I can sort of see why they did it, the new groves they added are on the other side that wasn't very visible in the original images
However the 4 groves design is both more accurate to the game and more interesting visually (asymmetry is good especially on a rotating object)

I'm simply hopeful the four other pods see some kind of use otherwise they'd have screwed up again.

Then again how hard would it be to axe the four extras from the existing model? I ask because i know little about modeling beyond it's tedious and you want to recycle/reuse everything possible once made.

Eh? Either 4 or 8 groves are both pretty damn symmetric.

Very good. It was a fair criticism and it's good to see it addressed. They care.

I quite liked the original concept from a pure visual standpoint, but the level of faithfulness and heavy-handed lighting was definitely something worthy of criticism.

If you've played System Shock, you should already know what they are.

I have not played the original because I've tried, couldn't get far because battling the controls while dealing with everything else made me grouchy. I've heard logs, seen play through, and all so I know it's good. It's just... the interface and controls left me too aggravated to appreciate any of it while playing, and no I did not want to turn things down to 1 because then you'd be riding me over 'oh you have to play on the baby difficulty huh?' You're like my stepdad, finding negativity and any excuse to bitch at someone you can.

Yeah, i've read it. Even though I liked how Kick answered to given questions, and how he's handling PR in general, he's also mentioned their team went all in on the kickstarter and they are expecting $900k...  O_o
This makes me nervous, considering how small of a portion of Citadel Station they showed in their trailers and screens so far. I'm sure they have a lot of goodies to show, and maybe even some decent stretch goals (physical copies as stretch goals every single time is getting quite tiresome though), But if this fails their remaster could be set back a lot more than they would like to admit.
