SS2Tool v6.1 lang problem

Hi all, it seems like the latest SS2Tool v6.1 removes all the translations from original game.. After installing "perfect" SS2tool, all the tesxt, sounds and others becomes English. I currently have Russian disc, and never faced with this using SS2Tool v4.3 or 5.1  How can i update without loosing the translations?

this is an unofficial cd compilation/translation, right? if that's the case, the translated parts will probably have to be reworked into a standalone mod to work properly in the 6.1+ environment (Kolya will have to confirm).

Yeah, the way it works is that SS2Tool compares your local game files to the master server and synchronises them, to make sure you have a working and up to date game. This is by default an English game. For the German game version it downloads a mod which overrides English files with localised German versions. This is the way to go for any other translation as well. See the German mod for how this should look.

Hi Voodoo and Kolya! Yes, this is unofficial cd traslation made by WebCall studio, and the problem is that in Russia we have about 5-6 different traslations of the game made by diferent studios, but this one is the best(for me). I found the Russian translation wich can be used like a mod(like German or French) in this forum, but it's sucks, and i'm very disapointed.  If it's not kills my translation before with the oldest SS2Tool versions, i belive that ii possible to do some tricks with the newer one to bring translation back. Is there any method? Maby i need to do some files replacment from old cd to my updated game folder? But wich ones? Guys, help me please

Install the Russian version, delete shock2.exe, 7zip the rest and upload it somewhere, we'll sort out the rest.

I'll take a blind shot - overwrite all 16 crf files in the \Data\res folder with ones from the cd.

Whats wrong? Thanks to voodoo, it's exactly what i'm looking for.  I know Eng, it's not a problem to play an original Eng game, it's about atmosphere, wich is better with my old one cd for me.

it's all good, just a bit of humor native to this place.

yeah, I had a hunch they did not screw around and punched the translated files right into the crfs, something you really shouldn't do - in soviet russia, you don't mod a game, the game mods you, or something.

also while it will work for vanilla, I'm pretty sure some mods will have problems with this.

have no problem at all with all of this mods, i just delete your new font from SHTUP_ND for proper text on Russian.

anyway, you really don't need all that Tacticool stuff, everything is included in the Tacticool complete package, Eldron's psi amp as well.

you will probably have problems with Secmod, SCP and such (mods that include fixed strings).
