The question that is making me excited about this game is, will NightDive have enough money, and enough assets and inhouse tools from this remake to consider giving the same treatment to SS2? I think it would be a minor jump in art direction, and mostly in the level design. Kind of makes we wish for the same treatment for Thief games (which's levels could be redesigned very liberally, as long as they kept them all - but that's a pipedream for a developer with the rights)
Kickstarter hasn't been solely for getting funding for a project for quite some time. Even big companies use it as cheap promotion because it will practically guarantee one months of regular coverage by gaming sites, every time an update is released or a stretch goal is unlocked.
So I believe He just ment that He had made deal with Night Dive Studios.

And now the little guys that use it for legitimate reasons/the purpose it was made get overlooked in favor of the fanfare of nostalgic remakes backed by corporate funding. Whether or not Underworld Ascendant is one of this kind we don't know as they are silent on the matter of finances, but there's always the possibility they are backed by EA. I guess if so then that was the price of getting the Underworld license from them.
Capitalization and the correct use of it is defined by the rules of English grammar. He's losing his smart ass appeal, that will just leave the negative aspects of the almighty Bane.
