one can't have enough of SS1 remakes/engine clones I suppose, but I fear that this might not be workable from the legal side of things (as money will be involved).

I guess this could be ok if you required a previously purchased SS1 copy for your remake to work, but even that might not be enough. my suggestion would be - talk to NightDive about this before doing anything serious. there is a good chance they will allow this under reasonable conditions.

I think I will remove one D from the game like you suggested!
Maybe I will add the third D back as an in-app purchase.
