I hope it'll be successful. It's surely a big gamble to head a kickstarter for such an old game that while has a sizable enough audience, there's lots of factors lowering the odds. Still, they've already put out a fantastic video which got a lot of views and another showing the latest progress at launch is sure to please. Regardless getting the attention of the Bioshock/modern gamer audience with more of that stellar visual fidelity & art direction is vital to hitting the target if it is high, though I am eager to see more of the actual gameplay.

I guess the usual crappy merchandise and backer design interference will be present once more as no developer seems to want to take risks or not compromise in that regard. Still, this is standard practice for a reason. Many people must only pledge higher because of the stupid rewards, less because of the actual initial purpose: to help make a better game by offering more funds...but that's just how people function I suppose.

Pot. Kettle.

I'm going to chip a few dollars in, might not have enough to spare for a physical release, but I definitely want to get a digital edition.

I will try to save money for that, and "donate" a bigger price for a better giveaway. I've already spent a lot on SS-related stuff, a lllooot. So not gonna loose a collector's item due to my greed. Even though Russian money became 2 times cheaper than US/EU/GBP, and I can eat for two weeks for the price of Quantum Break in Steam :)

Why'd you say Quantum Break specifically?  I mean, it's literally every third-person shooter mixed with Tell-Tale.

And you can only buy Quantum Break from Microsoft Store  :oldman:

The price of this game isn't adapted to our region. Everyone here talks about it :) Its price is really ridiculous  :lordy:

How much is it?

It's 4000 rubles, which is a lot. No sense to measure how many euros it would be, due to two reasons: our overall monthly income was 3-4 times lesser than in Europe, and two years ago the price of international value risen up to 2 times, in a week, so we're experiencing an economical crisis here.

Before that 700 rubles was a high price for the newest AA (or even AAA) titles. Now 1500 is ok. But not 4000.

P.S. It might look like that quite a few of my posts are about money, but that's a damn problem :)

P.P.S. Да это пиздец! Я в ахуе!

I know what not having money is like. However personally I eat decent an have a place to sleep. I won't make light of your situation and just... Y'know? Take care of what you need to take care of.

I'm sorry, but 2 and 2/3 the price of a normal game is absolutely unacceptable.  Whoever decided the price for Quantum Break in Russia should be fired.

It's sad to see how so few can put such economical stress on so many people simply because of politics. No, the system isn't flawed a tiny bit

...And then there are people who actually profit off the low value of their coin. Take Poland for example, so many people there are selling their cheap non-region locked Steam games on online markets, so Europe and North America (mostly) can buy their favourite games for cheap in a dubious way (Let's be honest here, a lot of people are tax evading on these sites to buy them for cheaper (even I used to be guilty to this).

Stop bitching about my bitching.

Funnily enough, my post is one of the few that is on topic, the rest involves a lot of off topic bitching. Some bullshit API, game prices, game availability, politics, bitching about my bitching...only a matter of time before someone mentions Hitler. Oh damn, too late.

So are you excited for the Kickstarter guys? O_o

I hoped they wouldn't do a kickstarter, but that doesn't mean I won't donate. How much i will donate however strongly depends on the backer rewards (not including goodies, i don't care about those :P)

I couldn't be more excited if Hitler commanded it.

Just found out about this a couple days ago (The remaster) after looking back into the new System Shock 3. Was very confused at first since now this will be the second remaster for the System Shock not the first remaster or System Shock 3. I would just consider this to be an entirely new game since after all it will be totally transformed. Going to save up some money now.

if you mean EE, that was not a remaster, it was just a make-it-playable-on-modern-pcs-ster.

Did a quick scan of the threads before mentioning this, but could not find a mention.

System Shock Remastered Edition, will (according to this article on Kotaku) now be ditching the "Remastered Edition" bit in it's name and will now be called "System Shock".

Also, and here's the important bit - This will no longer be a remake of the first game and instead be a full reboot. So new story, etc etc.

I for one am not happy one bit at all about this. Why do a full reboot when you plan to do a sequel to the second game which obviously follows the original plot timeline? Seems kinda stupid.
