well, they are doing a full remake, so anything goes, really.

The SS1 Cyborg Drone is a blatant ripoff of the Star Trek TNG Borg drone. They probably couldn't get away with that anymore.

New design is fine, although I'm not sure about the over-sized goggles. Looks impractical.

Will bring up the movie Virus (1999) again. It's not considered a masterpiece by anyone, but the special effects are excellent, and the plot is basically "Shodan finds her way on to earth after the events of the Von Braun and begins planning world domination". Some of the forcibly augmented cyborg designs are ripe for inspiration if they're not staying 100% true to the original.

Edit: the gritty, gory and somewhat more believable look would perhaps be better suited to System Shock 3 for a variety of reasons.

This weeks SS Kickstarter update concept art. Why'd it have to have 3 red eyes? Beyond that, looks alright.

It's sad they're departing further from the original designs, but then this was to be expected.
It could be worse like you would get cartoonier designs like in Underworld Ascendant, I'm just glad it seems to be heading in a "more dishevelled, more textured, more screwed up" direction that reminds you of Waters' old Bioshock art

That so goes against the spirit of Kickstarter.

Using it as a means to gain stuff for you to sell at crazy prices later. Tsk tsk.
67439ddd71fd8
Yeah, I didn't think this was allowed? Don't you have to give your details? Would NDS even change the crew member name later?

I would be very, very surprised if this weren't illegal - but the scammer selling knows what he's doing, there is no way he'll get put down in just a couple of hours (that are left), and in case some sorry soul buys it, he'll be long gone with $4000 (-750 he paid for the pledge) before any legal action can be taken.

What bullshit.  As soon as I think humanity can't get any lower, some jerk comes along and lowers my expectations even further.

I'd say by now it's about 20 feet below sea level.

while I can't disagree with that, this particular case is hardly something that could be considered an act of pure evil - it's just some jerk trying to take advantage of someone stupid.

putting the legal stuff aside, if someone really is dumb enough to shell out $4k for a $750 item, he kind of deserves to be ripped off.

//no one was that stupid.

While I do dislike turds like this guy, I have to maintain the logical perspective that if someone is dumb enough to pay that money, this guy IS a winner (ie. good for him).  In retrospect, I might be jealous that I didn't try it myself and get 4k for doing nothing.

...but it still stinks of ass.

lol wtf?

They did it again. Same person, same item, same goddamn description, but at least this time he/she knocked off a thousand bucks.

So, should we report the item to ebay?

if the assumption of the pledge being non-transferable is correct, I'd say yes.

I don't think Kickstarter have any specific rules, so I'd imagine it would be Night Dive's say.

OH MY GOD

How many times do you'll think they'll try this crap?  He/she didn't even lower the price. It's the exact same shit, different day.

Is there anyone in the world who has $3000 spare dollars lying around who is dumb enough to buy this anyway?

On the bright side, each listing costs him money.

Only if he had already used up his 40 free listings prior for that month.

Sooooo....what's up with Night Dive?  I mean it's understandable when a one man project chooses to use its time to make content for the game rather than news posts, but NDS is funded by the sale of numerous games.  They make their money on them and have a team of employees.

So why no news on their sites in 8 months?

Oh sure Josiah, you're one to speak.  No news posts on IndieDB in over a year.  Surely you have time to blurb something.

Bah, it's easier to post updates in byte sized chunks on here.
