How do I comment map markers and loot ammo?

How do I take ammo from fallen enemies weapons?
How do I attach a note to markers I've placed on the map?

If that single slug is worth your trouble you have to take the shotgun and then right-click it in your inventory. You'll see window with the gun and there's a button UNLOAD. Guess what next.

It is unbelievably unexpectable but you have to click the marker on your map and start typing.

Yeah, I did figure out the adding notes thing. I was expecting a box to pop up or something. The gun thing had me stumped, though.
