Can any of you music buffs help me out?
Around 2008 I played the first Mafia game and looked it up on youtube. Found some Mafia related content but also this music.
The video showed japanese people beeing pushed into a train at rush hour. At the time I didn't have some easy tool to download music from yt, so I just recorded it in Cool Edit Pro in real time and named it "mafia" (because I'm lazy). Didn't note the account name nor the artists name (if it was given anyway).
After searching now, I can find the video in some variations, but never with the music, which would help me identify the composer.

So, tl;dr: Do you know who made this music?

There's a bunch of services to identify music. One is built into Windows10's Cortana.
Have you tried something like this?

I have. With less than impressive results.

Huh, game music may not be within the scope of such services. In any case, I don't know the track. Bleep bloop.

Let's hope this is available where you live. It's a deep house/trance track with a nice shuffling train sample.

I must get around to listening to the tracks listed in the newer posts. Been using the tracks I've liked as background music whilst playing Watch Dogs. Works perfect with it.

On the flip side of PFM's The Western in 1995 was...

PFM - Hypnotising

Also pretty good.

Whilst listening to the tracks you've been listing, I've often just left youtube running afterward to take it off to similar tracks.

Some tracks I've liked that have come up in that time, that have not been linked here already:

Alex Reece & Wax Doctor - Atlantic Drama - Love this one
Alex Reece - Pulp Fiction (Original)
Alex Reese - Basic Principles (Wax Doctor Rollout)
Big Bud - Blues For Zoran
Big Bud - White Widow (Original Mix)
Chicane - Offshore (Ambient Mix)
DJ Trax - High Time (Nookie Remix)
Jonny L - I Let U

Yeah, I'm aware of all of them, and they're good, but they haven't made my list :P
Except for Jonny L - I let u anyway, see: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=8935.msg106303#msg106303

I rather like this one: Tango & Fallout - Revelations

Played in a '94 Bukem set but was never released, so a fan remade it.

Neither old, nor DnB but very much in the tradition of electronic music I used to love - Pt II:

Nisennenmondai – Boiler Room In Stereo

It's hazy, hypnotic and driving with a human touch of imperfection. Great stuff for peak time (and beyond).

Word of warning - Don't listen to that one if you have a headache :p. Listening to it (with one) I kept waiting for it to ramp up. Never did. Interesting sound but not one I'd listen to regularly. Style of the video I liked.

Definitely not recommended if you have a headache. ;) And yes, it's not really music that really lends itself to bedroom listening. It's club music through and through.
