well, today nearly all (comercialized) music is electronic.. but this are some of the finest titles i love from 90's

some of them because if not the list would be endless... if somebody like it would be nice if we talk about it (about goa trance, not psytrance please)

(forum friendly links by me as requested by Kolya)

...

Shakta - Silicon Trip

Hallucinogen - Fluoro Neuro Sponge

Man With No Name - Neuro Tunnel

Oforia - Why Not On Mars

Psychopod - Dreampod

Don't know if this is considered a classic but something wierd happened to me with this song right now.
I often saw it on MTV/Viva back in 2002 and was facinated by the morphing. The music seems to have stuck in my head as well because I listen to it again time and time again.
But this evening I watched the video once, twice, three times, several times while thinking "what are you doing? *repeat*"
I think it reminds me of a time when everything was good for me and I wasn't really angsty or of low self-esteem (for no tabgible particular reason).
But on the other hand this song and his mysterious atmosphere is also prone to put me at unease.
Maybe I was at a treshold back then XD.

But enough of my ramblings.
Man, music is powerful stuff.

Plundersonics - Mutants here I am
One of the greatest tracks to come out of the C64 chiptune scene.

Interesting old school early 90s house track from Italy:

Icemann: want to jerk in hindsight? My top ten of the genre in ascending order (#1 best):

1. PFM - The Western
2. Skanna - This Way
3. Universal - Groove Therapy
4. The Alliance - Virtual Heaven
5. Futurebound - Sorrow
6. JMJ & Richie - Free La Funk (PFM Remix)
7. Intense - Motions VIP
8. J-Laze - Memoryz
9. Seba & Lotek - So Long
10. Intense - Only You

What's yours?

Sorry, I've just never met anyone that's even heard of this beautiful excellence beyond one or two of the well known tracks and you seem into it enough. I mean only 3,000 views for The Alliance - Virtual Heaven and 1000 for Universal - Groove Therapy? Incomprehensible.

Late reply as due to the amount of great tracks listed earlier on, that kept me just fine for the past few games I've been playing with these in play :).

So to answer your question:

1. Jesus on E's - Unknown creator. Very old Amiga DnB tune. If you've never listened to this one, be sure to click on the video I linked as this is one of those tunes where the video COMPLETES the song.
2. U.S.U.R.A. - Open Your Mind
3. PFM - The Western (original mix)
4. Alex Reece - Pulp Fiction
5. Alex Reece & Wax Doctor - Atlantic Drama
6. Bungle - The Need Of Being Alone
7. Big Bud - Alzir
8. Peshay - Piano Tune
9. Skanna - This Way
10. DJ Tamsin & The Monk - A Better Place (DJ Trace Mix)
11. Jonny L - I Let U
12. DJ Trax - High Time (Nookie Remix)
13. Stunna - Miss Ives[Techmosphere .01 LP]
14. J-Laze - Memoryz
15. MI5 - Experience
16. Parhelia - Southern Cross (Original Mix)

And yep I let mine go 6 over, as I was ranking these as I did a quick re-listen as I was just playing this on auto and not going by name usually except for a couple (Western and Peshay's Piano Tune).

Note that I have other songs in the DnB category that I loved more than these, but as I don't know the name of them, I can't find them. Many I just have memories of, as I used to as a kid (when DnB was quite popular) listen to a radio station that played DnB at the late hours, when I couldn't sleep. Which was most nights back then.

To give an example of one I recall - I remember a DnB tune that had Mortal Kombat sound effects and character name announcing throughout. And no not the tune that was the theme to the movie.

Odd that so few people are into this style of music. I absolutely love it.

Interesting. I see our tastes are somewhat aligned on a few there.

With further digging and name identifying in the time passed I found some more I think are good:

United Future Organization - Loud Minority (Alex Reece Remix)
Blame & Justice - Nocturnal (Blame & Justice remix)
Blame - A21
Big Bud - Emotionography
Cascade - mysteries

Nothing top ten worthy though.

By the way if you want to dig a little deeper, here is the source of all that is/was good in the intelligent DnB/Jungle scene in the 90s: https://archive.org/details/175bpm.plLtjBukemMixtapesCollection

The DJ/Producer LTJ Bukem, who is attributed to having pioneered that style and signed a lot of the great artists posted here on his "Good Looking" label. But there's other labels that were great too, like Moving Shadow.
Over 100 sets, a mix of live club, radio, and studio recordings in that link. There's some really classic stuff there.

2. U.S.U.R.A. - Open Your Mind

Sounds like house or techno, or one their sub-genres. Still cool though.

I'm not sure whether the main topic of this thread is still following the original title, so I'm trying to cover some wide array of possibilities :)

Yes, I'm more into Ambient, 90s (Hard)Trance, and Psychedelic, Chillout & Psy-Chill -- House/DnB never grasped me.

If interested in more of the stuff I like, I did some mixes on 8tracks: https://8tracks.com/dertseha - though I stopped making them and 8tracks furthermore changed their licensing model after which I stopped using their service altogether; So I'm not sure whether all mixes still can be fully listened to...

More is always welcome :).

Will note my opinions when I get the chance to listen to them:

Raai - Lovers Garden - Very old school trance style. Nice sound to it. Where trance is concerned I'm more a fan of the more electronic sounding stuff (which is for the most part 90s trance) compared to the more newer stuff which is all about the fast drum beats. Music that takes your mind away, that's what I love. That said I love drum and base, but that's different to trance not just with drum beats but with the overall sound and style to them.

2 XTreme - X-Treme Theme - I was half half on this one.
Carlito - Introspective - Very nice. DnB stuff.
Local Zero - Airbag - This one is excellent. I really liked this.

Here's one for you:

Very Daft Punk-ish kinda sound me thinks.

Yeah the 2Xtreme Theme is very...raw. It's old school breakbeat hardcore from like 1992, comes with the territory.

Yup Lover's Garden isn't D&B or anything from that family tree. It's just nice so I thought I'd share.

I was half and half on your funky electro house (?) track. Was nice and easy listening but didn't resonate with me beyond that.

"Carlito - Introspective - Very nice. DnB stuff.
Local Zero - Airbag - This one is excellent. I really liked this."

Glad you liked them. They are both my current "in" tracks at the moment.

JMJ & Richie - Universal Horn - Good sound. Another good one.
DJ Peshay & Roger Johnson - In My Soul - Not a fan at all of this one. The vocals get annoying quite quickly. If they were to remove them the song would be fine as the rest of it sounds fine.
